Kawasaki Ninja 7 Hybrid Details
The Ninja 7 is the first-ever hybrid motorcycle. Kawasaki has already launched it in global markets. Based on the Ninja brand name, it gets a full fairing along with a sports-tourer riding stance. It is powered by a 451cc, parallel-twin engine that works along with a 9kW electric motor. The combined power output is 58 bhp, which can be increased up to 69 bhp in 'Boost' mode.
Apart from its unique design, its performance is in the 1000cc category. The hybrid also helps in churning out good fuel economy as well. Kawasaki sells it at USD 12,499 (Rs. 10.34 lakh) globally. In India, it can be priced above the Rs. 11 lakh mark. Features include a TFT console, ride modes (EV, Eco Hybrid, and Sport Hybrid), dual-channel ABS, LED lights, and more. It also gets a walk mode and a reverse mode to help easy riding in the city.
Kawasaki Z e-1 Electric Sports Bike
Unlike the Ninja 7, the Z e-1 is a pure electric vehicle. It is powered by 1.5kWh batteries that are swappable as well. A 9kW electric motor powers the Z e-1. While the single battery offers a claimed range of 65 km, it can go up to 104 kmph of top speed in 'Boost' mode. Moreover, it also gets ride modes: Eco and Road. Other features include LED lights, walk mode, reverse mode, TFT console with Bluetooth connectivity, ABS, and Ergo Fit.
Kawasaki sells the Z e-1 at USD 7,299 (Rs. 6.07 lakh approximately). If it comes to India, the pricing of it can be around Rs. 7-8 lakh.
Verdict
Considering the craze for EV two-wheelers in India, the step of bringing hybrid and EV bikes from Kawasaki seems reasonable. But, the high costing can lead to a bad sales output. If Kawasaki keeps the costing in control, we will possibly see a decent amount of hybrid sports bike on roads.
