Pros & Cons of Bajaj Pulsar 180
Bajaj Pulsar 180 Detailed Review
The Pulsar 180 is based on a similar design as that of the other Pulsar series motorcycles. The iconic headlight, teardrop-shaped fuel tank, single-seat, twin-pod LED taillights, & the alloy wheel design makes it look like a big bike. The riding posture is slightly committed for comfortable riding but the Pulsar 180 is a good-looking motorcycle. The Pulsar 180 is designed to approach a younger audience via its aggressive looks. Pulsar 180 is a decade old bike and the bikemaker should completely revamp the design of the Pulsar 180.
Summary
The pulsar 180 is a handsome motorcycle & looks sporty.
The dimensions of the Pulsar 180 are big enough for the segment standards. The overall shape & size provides the Pulsar with a big capacity motorcycle feel. While the design has started to grow older, the overall dimensions of Pulsar still make it a worthy motorcycle in the segment. The Pulsar 180 remains one of the biggest motorcycles in its segment as well. It measures 2,035 mm in length, 765 mm in width, 1,115 mm in height and gets a wheelbase of 1,345 mm.
Summary
The overall dimensions of the Pulsar 180 are big & bold.
Bajaj has equipped the Pulsar 180 with a tried & tested 178.6cc, single-cylinder, DOHC, and a twin-spark engine which produces a peak power of 16.8 hp & 14.52 Nm of peak torque. This engine comes mated down with a 5-speed constant mesh gearbox which makes it fuel-efficient while providing sufficient power. The powerful engine and its aggressive acceleration have been a forte and USP of sales for the Pulsar 180 since its launch. The bike retains its sporty characteristics which are bluntly visible in the BS6 compliant engine as well. The real-world fuel economy is well over 40 kmpl.
Summary
Pulsar 180 is a very fuel-efficient & powerful city motorcycle.
The Pulsar 180 comes equipped with 17-inch alloy wheel tyres at both ends. The braking duty is completed by a single 280 mm disc at the front tyre & a 230 mm disc brake at the rear tyre. The combination of both the brakes helps stop the Pulsar in the required time. Feature-wise, Pulsar 180 is not very well equipped. A semi-digital instrument cluster& dual-channel ABS are the only features to name which are provided by Bajaj as a package.
Summary
Pulsar 180 Twin Disc has the correct tyre size, good brakes & sufficient features.
Ride & handling has been a forte of the Pulsar 180 since its launch. The sporty ride quality is decent for city use, although, the stiff suspension does feel hard at times. With a pillion, Pulsar 180 rides very well and retains its composure nicely. Handling of Pulsar is another area where it succeeds in the segment. The rider always feels confident & the overall combination of ride-handling is very confidence-inspiring. The 180 retains the riding experience like before but in terms of styling, Bajaj really needs to up their game.
Summary
Ride & handling of the Pulsar 180 is very well-tuned for the Indian roads.
