Pros & Cons of Royal Enfield Bullet 350
Royal Enfield Bullet 350 Detailed Review
The new Royal Enfield Bullet 350 is the successor of the outgoing iconic standard bike. The Bullet 350 name has been omnipresent in the Indian market since decades. Hence, RE knew that the new bike should be able to take the legacy one step ahead in terms of design. Therefore, the new Bullet 350 offers a complete mix of retro charm as well as modern elements. The front design now looks inspired by the Classic 350 as the headlight is same. Also, the headlight cap is taken form Classic 350. It also gets Chrome elements like plating on engine, exhaust, spoke rims, etc. But, customers can chose for matte version as well with black highlights. The seat is all new and so is the fuel tank. Although, its top spec gets the hand painted pinstripes which are iconic in themselves. At the rear, the design is similar to the Classic because of the same taillight & number plate section.
Summary
Overall, the new Bullet 350 looks very retro and charming. It has successfully retained the charm associated to its name.
The overall length of the motorcycle is more or less similar to the outgoing model. Due to its butch dimensions, the new Bullet 350 has a good road presence. All thanks to the wide handlebar and the upright seating posture, the motorcycle looks prominent in terms of size on the road. Also, the Bullet 350 gets a unique design for its rear end which is inspired by the Classic 350. Due to it, the rear profile of the Bullet 350 is also wide and appealing. Our personal favorite is the side profile which offers a complete outlook of its retro design & charm. Also, due to its big dimensions, the straight line stability of the bike is very good and the rider can easily maintain good highway speeds on it during crosswinds.
Summary
The dimensions of the new Bullet 350 are wide and big which make up for a strong road presence for it.
The biggest change on the new bike is the deployment of the new J-series engine. This is the same powertrain which has been fitted on Meteor 350 & Classic 350. Replacing the old UCE powertrain, this new engine is more responsive, vibrations are well controlled, & gives more fuel economy. The 2023 Bullet 350 is powered by the modern, globally acclaimed 349cc air-oil cooled single cylinder engine that also powers the Meteor, Classic and Hunter. Fuel-injected, it produces 20.2 bhp at 6100 rpm and 27 Nm of torque at 4000 rpm resulting in strong, low-end grunt, super smooth linear power delivery and a ride that’s both refined and invigorating. With a primary balancer shaft to cut down vibrations, it feels responsive and refined while its gear shifting is crisp and smooth thanks to an optimised 5-speed gearbox, ensuring a superlative ride experience. This engine has short gearing which helps in easy delivery of peak torque as well as more tractability on the roads. Hence, the new J-series engine offers more fuel economy as well.
Summary
The new J-series engine has very less vibrations & offers more tractability than the outgoing powertrain. It is smooth and full of torque.
As the chassis and powertrain is all-new, the tyres and brakes have also undergone a complete revamp on the new bike. It now gets a 100/90 -19 at the front and 120/80 -18 at the rear as compared to past Bullet versions. The motorcycle has a new take on the single bench seat, and that, combined with the suspension ensures a more comfortable and plush ride. Redesigned mudguards, a marked improvement in the proportion, stance and aesthetic balance of the motorcycle give it a subtly evolved styling. The motorcycle will have a 300mm disc brake fitted at the front and with 270mm disc or drum brake options at the rear. Adding to this list are a few modern features. For example, it now gets a semi-digital instrument cluster. While majority of it is an analog, there is a LCD screen below which shows you the odometer & different tripmeter settings. Additionally, RE has now provided a USB charging port which shall help the riders for charging phones and other equipment on the go.
Summary
The new Bullet 350 offers a better combination of tyres & brakes altogether. Also, the new instrument console looks good on the overall new design.
