Latest On Suzuki Intruder 150
Last Updated On 17th Aug’22: Suzuki has finally discontinued the Intruder 150 from the Indian market.
Launched back in 2017, the stint of production for the Suzuki’s Intruder 150cc commuter bike is now over. The company has finally pulled the plug on the Intruder cruiser bike in India. The Suzuki Intruder 150 was based on the bigger capacity cruiser bikes i.e., the Intruder M800 & M1800 R. The motorcycle's extensive use of plastic materials failed to attract many buyers, and in 2022 the bike had no buyers. In addition, the motorcycle's price was a little higher than the Bajaj Avenger 160, which costs Rs 1.11 lakh (ex-showroom). One of the reasons for the motorcycle's failure in India could be the aesthetic and design language of the Intruder 150. The Gixxer's 154.9cc engine was also used in the Suzuki Intruder 150. The engine produces 14.5bhp of power and 14 Nm of peak torque and is mated to a 5-speed transmission. When it comes to Gixxer, it has proven to be a successful product for the company in India. Telescopic front forks and mono-shock rear suspension were also part of the mechanical elements. Disc brakes and single-channel ABS were installed on both ends of the car.

Pros & Cons of Suzuki Intruder 150
Suzuki Intruder 150 Detailed Review
The design language of the Suzuki Intruder BS6 is not only distinctive and bold but in addition to this, also gives a massive road presence to the bike, The large panels and the headlamps give it an aggressive stance while the rear profile remains a little subtle to equalise the overall looks. The bike gets simple colour schemes which make it look elegant and highly appealing.
Summary
Cruiser oriented styling will appeal to those who want the feel of a big bike without having to spend the big bike type money.
The Suzuki Intruder BS6 is powered by a 155-cc engine that produces 13.6 horsepower and 13.8 Newton-meters of torque. This engine comes standard with a 5-speed manual transmission. With a kerb weight of around 152 kg, the power to weight ratio is decent, and the performance output is on par with its competitors. The overall refinement levels of this engine are impressive, and the fuel economy figures under mixed usage are around 45 kmpl.
Summary
Refined engine gives decent performance along with a good claimed fuel efficiency figure.
The Intruder 150's ergonomics and seating posture differ significantly from those of its naked sister given that it is a cruiser. Although the front is unaffected, the Intruder's wheelbase is 75mm longer than the Gixxer's due to the expanded swing arm. The seat height is significantly lower than the Gixxer at 740mm. All of this, along with the foot pegs that are positioned front and the neatly contoured rider seat, provide a very comfortable riding position.
Summary
Cruiser type ergonomics and seating posture result in a rather comfortable riding posture.
The Intruder gets a telescopic front fork, rear monoshock, and disc brake on both ends with a single-channel ABS as standard. The 17-inch alloy wheels are shod with the same 100-section front and 140-section rear radial tyre as before.
The configuration of the Intruder focuses more on comfort. The biggest bumps are felt on the lower back, but it absorbs most bumps and edges with wonderful composure. However, the lengthy wheelbase rather than the suspension design is primarily responsible for that. The Intruder weighs more than the Gixxer, but the weight is evenly distributed. You don't really notice the extra weight even when moving the bike about or traveling at slow speeds. But if it had had a broader handlebar, it would have been much simpler to navigate sharp hairpins and U-turns. Acceptable braking bite comes from the ABS-assisted brakes.
Summary
Compared to the Gixxer series, the suspension of the Intruder is more on the comfort side of things. Balanced weight distribution means that its not very cumbersome to ride.
