Maruti Suzuki Motors is one of the most likeable carmakers in the industry. People prefer opting for Maruti models not just because they are budget-friendly but are also low on maintenance. Today we will conduct a comparison between the latest generation of Celerio which has just hit the markets and WagonR which is already hitting the sales chart regularly. The Maruti Suzuki WagonR vs New Maruti Celerio comparison will help you better understand the cars.
Maruti Suzuki revealed the upcoming generation of the 2021 Maruti Celerio. The carmakers have finally launched the hatchback in the market. The car will carry noticeable changes in platform, technology and design. The new model will have a more curvaceous form factor with a more subtle front fa硤e.
The new model retains the tallboy stance. There will be several hints of the latest Swift as well as the S-Presso in the design of the new model. Maruti has also revamped the interiors of the car and will offer many new features, including a SmartPlay compatible touchscreen infotainment unit. The hatch will carry a Suzuki Connect module that will offer features like geofencing, vehicle status, driving analytics, and more. The safety features will include dual front airbags, ABS with EBD and reverse parking sensors.
Not only the interiors of the car have been tweaked but also the design language of the car has been revamped. It will feature a more roundish styling than a boxy look like before. The front fascia feature new elements such as sweptback headlamps and fog lamp housing on the lower section of the new bumper.
The profile continues the rounded look on the extended wheelbase with a tapered roofline that accentuates its enhanced length. The rear section is also rounder than before with wraparound tail lamps and a redesigned bumper with blacked-out elements. Due to its shape and design, Maruti will be able to call it a mini crossover. At the front, the car gets a new grille design.
The side profile comprises angular creases, a long tapering roofline, and more prominent wheel arches which make the hatch look more SUV-ish in proportions.
Now lets take a list of features WagonR is offering. Though it is being said that both the cars will carry the same specifications, the only difference can be seen in the design language. WagonR has a very sculpted design language. It comes with unique dual-split headlamps, bold fog lamps, and electrical ORVMs.
Taking a look inside the cabin the car comes loaded with a rear 60:40 split seat, dynamic instrument cluster, steering mounted controls, best-in-its-segment boot space, power windows, dual-tone interiors, day/night IRVM, silver finish gear shift knobs, rear defogger, keyless entry, smartphone-compatible infotainment system, two airbags, rear parking sensors, ABS with EBD, seat belt reminder and speed-sensitive auto door lock.
Maruti Suzuki offers two engine options - 1L and 1.2L. The 1-litre K10B three-cylinder petrol engine is capable of churning out 50 kW of maximum power and 90 Nm of peak torque whereas the 1.2-litre K12M four-cylinder petrol engine is capable of delivering 61 kW of maximum power and 113 Nm of peak torque.
On the other hand, the new-generation Celerio will also be expected to be available with two engine options, the same as the WagonR. The 1-litre K-series naturally aspirated petrol engine is expected to produce 67 bhp of maximum power and 90 Nm of peak torque. Whereas the 1.2-litre K12 petrol engine is expected to churn out 82 bhp of maximum power and 113 Nm of peak torque.

As mentioned above in the table, there is a possibility that Celerio might get a CNG motor as well.
It is important to consider dimensions because unless you do not know the size of the car how will you be a good driver then. Here there is a mention of the dimensions of just WagonR as the dimensions of the upcoming Celerio has not yet been revealed.
|DIMENSIONS||MARUTI SUZUKI CELERIO||MARUTI SUZUKI WAGONR|
|FUEL-EFFICIENCY||26.68 km/l||21.79 km/l|
The upcoming Celerio has been revamped with noticeable changes. The hatchback comes with a new exterior interior design language so the dimensions are also tweaked than before.
Now comes the point of concern - the pricing. Maruti Suzuki has always maintained its price legacy. WagonR is one of the oldest and most sold models in the brands portfolio. The entry-level trim of WagonR is priced at Rs 4.93 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi) and the entry-level trim for Celerio is priced at Rs 4.99 lakhs (ex-showroom).
The top-end variant for WagonR asks for a premium of Rs 6.45 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi) whereas Celerios top-end trim is launched at Rs 6.94 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi).
Maruti Suzuki is on the verge of success. With its current range of models and the upcoming ones, Maruti will hit the markets hard. Already few of its running models like Swift, Dzire, S-Presso, Ignis and a few others are already continuously hitting the sales chart. With its upcoming big launch of the all-new Celerio Maruti might be the trend-setter in its segment.
