Pros & Cons of Hyundai Aura
Hyundai Aura Detailed Review
Hyundai has retianed the 1.2 litre naturally aspirated petrol engine in the 2023 facelifted Aura. However, the 1 litre turbo petrol engine that was present in the prefacelift model has been dropped in the new facelift. Also, Aura continues to be available in CNG option. The 1.2 litre NA petrol engine in Aura develops 83 bhp of power and a max torque of 113.8 Nm, and comes with a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT transmission option. The CNG variants of Aura develop max torque of 95.2 Nm and 69 bhp of power, and comes with a 5-speed manual gearbox.
Summary
The naturally aspirated engine's performance remains the same as the pre-facelift Aura. However, the turbo petrol engine's performance will be missed.
Hyundai has done a few exterior design changes in the new Aura facelift. It now gets an inverted 'L' shaped LED DRLs. The front fog lamps present in the pre-facelift model has been removed in the facelift. The single-piece grille in the pre-facelift Aura has now been replaced by a slim upper grill and a wider lower grill which houses the LED DRLs and verticle side air ducts. The front bumper has been given a minor rework and it looks more aggressive now.
At the rear, there's no change in the design. However the boot lip spoiler is now offered as standard across the range which was earlier limited to the top-end trims. Hyundai has also added a new starry night paint scheme in the Aura.
Summary
Because of the new front bumper and front grill design, the Aura now looks much wider than before. The inverted 'L' shaped LED DRLs also look premium. Also, the standard fitment of rear boot lip spoiler adds to the appeal of the new Aura.
Though, the interior of the sedan gets a dual-tone design, the interior layout remains the same. However, Hyundai has added a new fabric upholstery for seats. Along with this, premium gloss black inserts, leather-wrapped steering wheel and gear knob, chrome finish on the gear knob & parking lever tip, metal finish inside door handles, etc have been added.
Summary
The new 2023 Aura facelift now looks even more premium and appealing from inside.
Hyundai has added several segment first & segment best comfort and convinience features in the Aura facelift. These include TPMS (Tyre Pressure Monitoring System), wireless phone charging, cruise control, a 3.5-inch digital MID, front footwell lighting, type-C fast USB charging and automatic headlamps.
Summary
The new features have made Aura more desirable and luxurious. Many of these features are either segment first or segment best, making Aura a feature and tech loaded family sedan.
Hyundai has made 4 airbags standard in Aura facelift. However, the top trim of Aura now gets 6 airbags. On the active safety front, ABS & EBD are standard across the variants, whereas the higger trims of Aura now get ESP (Electronic Stability Program) and Hill Start Assist as new additions.
Summary
The 2023 facelifted Aura now offers more safety to the passengers. The increase in airbag number and addition of new active safety tech makes Aura much saffer than before. Also, this will help Aura in meeting the new & upcoming safety norms.
