Variant Recommendation
The Renault Triber comes equipped with a single petrol engine and comes with 4 variants on offer. We believe the best value option is the RXT variant. It also comes with an AMT transmission for added convenience. It has all the features a daily driver needs. If you can upgrade to the RXZ variant, it’ll be a good option. It includes every feature on offer. The base model RXE is a good option only if you are looking for a 6-7-seater MPV on a budget.
Pros & Cons of Renault Triber
Should I buy the Triber?
The Renault Triber is an excellent family MPV. It has versatile 6-7 seater layouts and top-notch safety features. With its sturdy build quality, this car is a reliable choice for your everyday travels. Despite some vibrations and noise, its efficient petrol engine is a solid option for your daily commutes. The interior has great space and is a comfortable place to be in. Overall it is a good offering in the MPV category and if you are looking for some other options, then Maruti Ertiga is a great option.
- The design language of the Renault Triber is pleasant and has an attractive appearance. The front design has an elegant look with a projector setup for the headlights. It has good illumination and LED DRLs are located lower down. The minimalist use of chrome in the front gives it a premium characteristic.
- Coming to the side profile, it has a compact dimension design with dual-tone treatment providing it a bold and muscular appearance. The roof rails provide an SUV appearance and have functionality attached to it where you can attach a carrier for your luggage. The 15” alloy wheels provide a good appearance. The door handles might feel a bit flimsy to use.
- At the rear, the design is kept simple. It has bold taillamps and misses on LED units. The black and silver finish on the bumper reduces the visual bulk. The boot space is quite good when the third row is removed and can be extended up to 625L. The subtle spoiler gives a sporty treatment.
- As we step inside the cabin of the Triber, there’s a sense of space and comfort inside the vehicle. The fit-finish quality of the interior plastic could have been improved and it offers a dual-tone treatment on the dashboard. The lower down is a beige color and the upper uses a black tone giving it a less claustrophobic treatment.
- It has plenty of hard plastics on offer and the seats offer a comfortable sitting posture. The cabin is decently wide but shoulders might rub against the passenger seat. It has some cool features. These include wireless charging and connectivity for Android Auto and Apple Carplay. It also has automatic climate control and a dual-glove box for storage.
- Coming to the core of the Triber is its engine, so it comes equipped with a 1L Inline 3-cylinder petrol engine. This is the same engine that powers the Kwid and Kiger and it is a Naturally Aspirated petrol engine.
- This motor is decently refined in terms of NVH. Talking about its power outputs, it churns out 72 BHP and 96 Nm of peak torque. It is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox or an AMT gearbox. This unit is great. It would have attracted more buyers with a turbo petrol engine to boost its performance.
- The fuel efficiency of this engine is decent. In city conditions, it will return about 12-14 km/L depending on the driving style. It has a lethargic feel and having sudden overtakes on highways might need some extra planning.
- The gearbox is smooth and slick in shifts. The clutch is light and driving this vehicle in city conditions would not be an issue.
- Talking about the seating comfort of this MPV, it comes with some well-established seating comfort with great space on offer. Though it is short in wheelbase, it still manages to provide great comfort inside for the third row as well.
- The front seats are well cushioned and offer a good commanding view of the outside. The middle-row seats are well-suited for tall passengers and the third row offers good comfort for medium-sized adults.
- For multiple configurations, it has removable seats for the third row. This leads to more boot space and makes the boot and vehicle more practical. This enhances the versatility of the Triber. The middle row seats can be tumbled and folded which can eventually make it a 4-seater as well.
