Toyota Fortuner 2.7L Petrol Automatic I live in Delhi NCR which means the NGT bans the diesel vehicles in just 10 years. So I was really not happy with the idea of throwing my hard earned Rs 40 lakh to the disposal after 10 years. So I brought the petrol variant of Fortuner which costed me well under Rs 35 lakh. Also, for petrol the vehicle can be kept for 15 years. Everyone in my friend laughed about buying an SUV and that too a petrol one but I did not have much running. I drive close to 80 km a day on higways and the mileage I get is between 8-10 km/l. It is very low but at least I will keep the car for 5 more years. Also, the refinement is top notch, the automatic is sometimes slow to respond but then I do not push the engine too hard. Till now I have covered about 40,000 km with the SUV and I am happy that I brought a petrol instead of diesel.
Toyota Fortuner 2010 4x4 Diesel I was one of the first owners of Fortuner and back in the day it was very popular. I got the SUV for Rs 20 lakh on road and till now I have covered 3 lakh km on the odometer. The only real problem I faced isa the replacement of clutch pedal at 2 lakh km and that’s it. My services are from Toyota dealerships only. Now, coming to the modifications then on the inside there is a good aftermarket music system with touchscreen and navigation. On the outside, the front bumper is now replaced with a off-roading one and the tyres are AT with stock alloy wheels. There is a 6-inch lift kit and a working snorkel. I have also for an engine remap and it now gets a 40 bhp boost. Most runs are on highways but the off-roading factor is there in Himachal Pradesh. I have also camped in my Fortuner and I am planning to keep this SUV for another few years.
I bought the new Ford Endeavour with the 2.0-L engine. I have driven the car for only 5 thousand kilometres till now. It is a Titanium model in black colour. I love the road presence of the vehicle and it looks absolutely stunning because of its bold and bulky design language. The interiors feels premium and the seats too are comfortable. However, I would have appreciated if the brand provided more space in the last row. Apart from that, the new 2.0-L engine is very smooth and there is hardly any noise that filters inside the cabin. The 10-speed gearbox is quick with the shifts. I have also driven the 3.2-L engine and that feels more powerful but this engine feels more mature in the overall power delivery. I will update this thread in future and add-on about my experiences.
I am a proud owner of a 2018 Ford Endeavour 2.2-L 4X2. I use this car for my office travel and also for highway travel once in a while. The fuel economy that the car returns stands at around 10 KMPL in mixed usage. I have driven a number of SUVs and I can easily claim that the Ford Endeavour is one of the best ladder-on-frame SUV when it comes to overall driving dynamics and steering feedback. Had my budget been a little more, I would have definitely gone for the 3.2-L engine but I am highly satisfied with my car. The after sales support is great and I had to once get a faulty ABS sensor replaced, which was handled by the brand very efficiently. The regular service costs me around Rs 7-8 thousand per visit.
