Tata Safari - The most exciting launches of 2021 was of Tata Safari and the XT+ and XZ+ come with the widest panoramic sunroof in the segment. While the former variant is limited to manual transmission only, the XZ+ is also offered with an optional 6-speed torque converter unit.

Hyundai Tucson

The flagship from Hyundai, Tucson is offered with both petrol and diesel engine options. The panoramic sunroof is limited to the top-spec variants and the price for the same starts from Rs 23.92 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi.

If I ask you what is that one feature that is loved by car buyers but hated by car enthusiasts? Take a guess! Taken? There's a hint, it is the most overrated feature in any Car/SUV. Yep, the panoramic sunroof! In this article, we will cover the cars that come with panoramic sunroof in India but before we proceed, let me share some pros and cons of it.

Hyundai Creta
Engine - 1.5L Petrol, 1.4L Petrol and 1.5L Diesel

Power - 113 bhp and 143, 140 bhp and 242 Nm, 113 bhp and 250 Nm

This latest-gen Hyundai Creta is one of the most feature-loaded mid-size SUV in its segment. Also, the panoramic sunroof trim starts from Rs 13.46 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi which makes it a better buy. It comes with several other features like automatic climate control, BlueLink Connectivity, electronic parking brake, paddle shifters, remote engine start, one-touch cruise control and among others.

MG Hector
Engine - 1.5L Petrol, 2.0L Diesel

Power - 141 bhp and 250 Nm, 168 bhp and 350 Nm

MG made its debut in India with the Hector and oh boy, the SUV has proved its worth. The cabin inside offers more than enough space to seat 3 adults and the large panoramic sunroof makes it less claustrophobic. Unlike the Creta which offers panoramic sunroof in second to top model also, MG reserves the panoramic sunroof as standard for Sharp trim only.

Tata Harrier
Engine - 2.0L Diesel

Power - 170 bhp and 350 Nm

Well, the Harrier instantly became popular when it was first launched in February 2019. However, its sales started to diminish with new entrants like MG Hector and Kia Seltos. Another reason for the low sales was because of the lack of features. Fast forward to 2020 Auto Expo, Tata upped its game and introduced a new version of Harrier with an updated engine and a massive panoramic sunroof. The prices for the same starts from Rs 18.75 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi if you want to buy the panoramic sunroof trim.

Volkswagen T-Roc
Engine - 1.5L Petrol
Power - 147 bhp and 250 Nm

Volkswagen's new entrant is the T-Roc which is a complete CBU and comes in a sole 1.5L petrol engine. It is sold only in a single trim and offers a panoramic sunroof in that. It rivals with Jeep Compass, Hyundai Tucson and upcoming Skoda Kamiq. The prices for the same starts at Rs 19.99 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi.

Jeep Compass
Engine - 1.4L Petrol and 2.0L Diesel
Power - 160 bhp and 250 Nm, 170 bhp and 350 Nm

The oldest running mid-size SUV, Jeep Compass was the first to be introduced in this segment. The sales were booming until the new competitions started to arrive. Just recently, Jeep added new features like a panoramic sunroof and the long-awaited 9-speed AT gearbox to the diesel engine. The prices for the sunroof equipped Compass starts from Rs 21.92 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. Yes, in this we also have taken care of the Compass trailhawk trim which is a hardcore SUV.

MG ZS EV
Battery - 44.5 kWh
Power - 141 bhp and 353 Nm

Who would have thought an electric SUV will make to this? Well, it surely has as MG has played quite well with the prices of ZS EV as well as the number of features onboard. The panoramic sunroof sticks to its top-spec trim, Excite and costs about Rs 23.58 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi.

Honda CR-V
Engine - 2.0L Petrol
Power - 152 bhp and 189 Nm

Honda discontinued the diesel engine right before the new BS6 emission hit the market. It now comes in a sole 2.0L petrol with a CVT gearbox. This SUV mainly competes with Skoda Kodiaq and Volkswagen Tiguan All-Space. It starts at Rs 28.27 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi.

Ford Endeavour
Engine - 2.0L Diesel

Power - 170 bhp and 420 Nm

The big-butch SUV from Ford got updated with the latest 2.0L diesel engine which now is mated to a 10-speed automatic gearbox. The ARAI certified mileage is also improved with this unit. It comes with two trims - Titanium and Titanium Plus. The latter comes with a panoramic sunroof and the prices start from Rs 31.56 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi.

Mahindra Alturas G4
Engine - 2.2L Diesel

Power - 178 bhp and 420 Nm

Mahindra just introduced the AlturasG4 in its BS6 from and offers two trims - 2WD and 4WD. The latter comes with a panoramic sunroof and is priced at Rs 39.69 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. It is offered in a 7-speed automatic gearbox.

Volkswagen Tiguan AllSpace
Engine - 2.0L Petrol
Power - 188 bhp and 320 Nm

Volkswagen introduced the all-new Tiguan AllSpace at the 2020 Auto Expo and it comes in a single trim only. It gets a 7-speed DSG gearbox and gets an AWD set up. This same engine will come with the Skoda Kodiaq and Superb facelift. However, the power figures are expected to be altered. Coming to the prices then it comes at Rs 33.12 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi.

BMW X1
Engine - 2.0L Petrol, 2.0L Diesel
Power - 189 bhp and 280 Nm, 188 bhp and 400 Nm

BMW X1 is one of the most affordable premium SUV to touch this segment of cars under Rs 40 lakh that offers panoramic sunroof in India. It comes in both petrol and diesel and the sunroof is available right from its base trim which starts from Rs 35.9 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi.

Volvo XC40
Engine - 2.0L Petrol
Power - 190 bhp and 300 Nm

With the BS6 emission norms, Volvo India discontinued the 2.0L diesel and introduced a 2.0L BS6 compliant petrol motor. It is available in a single trim, T4-R Design and is priced at Rs 39.9 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. Looks like it just made to this segment!
