Is This How The Toyota MPV Will Look Like? Maruti Ertiga Rival

We all have been aware of the Maruti-Toyota alliance and this partnership is working quite well for Toyota. The Japanese carmaker marked its way into the premium hatchback segment then the compact SUV and now the idea is for the C-Segment sedan and the MPV. In this rendering, we showcase how the upcoming Toyota MPV based on the Maruti Ertiga will look like.

Before we go any further and share everything related to the upcoming Toyota MPV based on Maruti Ertiga design, make sure you are a member of our exclusive 91Wheels Telegram group. Here, we bring everything related to the Indian Automotive Industry.

The front profile gets a similar headlight design but the grille is slightly changed. The chrome bezzles on the grille are replaced by a three-slat unit with Toyota badging in the middle. Upon its launch, we believe that the front bumper will be redesigned just like what Toyota did with the Urban Cruiser.

Moving to the side profile, it will more or less remain the same except for the new alloy wheels design. In the rendering too, the alloy wheels have been given a two-tone shade. We are not yet sure if Toyota will tweak the rear bumper design along with the taillight. After all, this new MPV will sit below the Innova Crysta mark.

Mechanically, Toyota will use the same K-Series, 1.5-litre, naturally aspirated petrol engine that is used in the Urban Cruiser. This uni delivers 103 bhp with a peak torque of 138 Nm. A 5-speed manual and an optional torque converter will be seen. Furthermore, we can expect the in-house diesel engine too but that will be first seen in the Maruti Ertiga.

As per the cabin design is concerned then Toyota will be playing safe and tweaked interior colour scheme along with rebadging will be done. Features like cruise control, automatic climate control, AC vents, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors will be observed. In addition to the tweaked design change, Toyota also provides a better warranty of 3 years or 1 lakh km when compared with Maruti's 2 years or 40,000 km deal.

As far as the prices are concerned then the Toyota MPV will sit at a premium over the Ertiga. We can expect the prices to start from Rs 9 lakh and go up to Rs 11.60 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. Along with this, we can also expect a CNG version that will eventually procure better sales.
