Revolt Motor RV 400 Price Increased, Warranty Terms Updated - Details

Revolt Motors recently announced that they will reduce the battery warranty period of the RV400. The Revolt Motor RV 400 Price was also increased by Rs. 18,000.

When all-electric motorcycle manufacturer Revolt Motors debuted their RV400, it did not just stand out for its exciting design language. Revolts extensive battery warranty program of 8 years or 1,50,000 kms, was the most reassuring and a major decisive factor. However, that will not be the case anymore. For Revolt Motors has reduced the warranty period for its 3.24 kWh lithium-ion battery to six years or 1,00,0000 kms.

Despite this reduction of two years or 50,000 kms, Revolts battery warranty still remains the most extensive. Especially when compared to the likes of its core competitors - Ather Energy and Ola Electric -  both of which are still offering a 3-year warranty for their scooters.

The 72-volt lithium-ion battery produces 54 Nm of torque in the RV400. It takes 4.5 hours to get completely charged via a 15 A socket. The Revolt RV400 also offers a battery swap, that is offered by neither of its competitors.  Once fully charged, the Revolt RV400 can do 156 km of range if driven conservatively. But if driven at its constant top speed of 85 kmph, expect the numbers to drop.

Another major aspect that made the Revolt RV400 such a sensible option was its flexible financial scheme of subscription-based payment. The Governments FAME II subsidy effect made the RV400 a really cheap electric motorcycle at Rs. 87,000 (the lowest including state-specific subsidy) from its launch price of Rs. 1.07 lakh starting price. However, that is not the case anymore, because Revolt has hiked the price by Rs. 18,000. So, post-taxes, the prices of the Revolt RV400 now starts from Rs. 1.25 lakh in all dealerships, except for the one available in Mumbai where its priced at Rs. 1.26 lakh. However, in states with no buyer-side subsidies on offer, the RV400 can cost well above Rs. 1.40 lakh.

A crucial point worth adding here is this raised price bracket is applicable to those people as well who have made their bookings and are awaiting delivery for their bike. Revolt Motors has communicated the same to these potential customers and has cited a significant increase in raw material cost as the reason behind this increase in price.

Revolt Motor also announced in October that it will increase its dealership footprint from six cities to 70 cities, including both second and third-tier cities. The last dealership they opened was in Vishakapatnam, which was their 15th outlet.
