Ather 450X is currently the most powerful electric scooter in India. Ather Energy launched the Ather 450X in India earlier this year in January 2020. The new Ather 450X gets a 2.61 kWh lithium-ion battery. It comes coupled with an electric motor that churns out 8.15 PS of power and 26 Nm of peak torque. This electric scooter does 0-40 kmph in just 3.4 seconds and the top speed is rated at 80 kmph. The Ather 450X get two riding modes too. They are Eco and Ride. The claimed riding range of the scooter is 70 kilometres per charge in Ride mode while in the Eco mode, it can go up to around 85 kilometres on a single charge. It takes around 5 hours 45 minutes to fully charge the battery of this electric scooter. The price of the Ather 450X starts at Rs. 1.35 lakhs (non-subscription plan) and Rs. 85,000 (subscription plan). All prices stick to Ex-showroom Delhi.

The second most powerful electric scooter in India is the Bajaj Chetak. The Bajaj Chetak was the first electric scooter from a mainstream two-wheeler manufacturer in the Indian market. The Bajaj Chetak gets a 3 kWh lithium-ion battery. The lithium-ion battery of the EV comes paired with an electric motor that churns out 6 PS of power and 16 Nm of peak torque. The all-new Bajaj Chetak electric scooter gets two riding modes - Eco and Sport. In Sport mode, the electric scooter delivers a claimed riding range of 85 kilometres per charge while in the Eco mode, it can run up to 95 kilometres on a single charge. It takes around five hours to fully charge its battery. The price of the Bajaj Chetak Premium starts at Rs. 1.15 lakhs, Ex-showroom. It also has a lower-spec Urbane variant (priced at Rs 1 lakh) but that has not gone on sale yet.

TVS iQube

Price Starts at Rs. 1.15 lakhs

The third most powerful electric scooter in India is from TVS and it is the TVS iQube. The TVS iQube is the first electric scooter from the house of this Madras-based Indian two-wheeler manufacturer. The TVS iQube gets a 2.25 kWh lithium-ion battery and it comes paired with an electric motor. This electric motor churns out 5.9 PS of power and 33 Nm of peak torque. It has a claimed top speed of 78 kmph and 0-40 kmph takes around 4.2 seconds. The electric scooter gets two riding modes too - Economy and Power. The company claims a range of around 75 kilometres on a single charge and it can be fully charged in 4 hours and 30 minutes. The all-new TVS iQube is priced at Rs. 1.15 lakhs, on-the-road (OTR) Bengaluru.

Okinawa I-Praise

Price Starts at Rs. 1.08 lakhs

Next, we have an electric scooter from Okinawa in our listicle and it is the Okinawa I-Praise. The new Okinawa I-Praise gets a 1000 watt BLDC electric motor that churns out a maximum power output of 2.5 kW (3.39 PS) and a good amount of torque (torque figure not officially revealed). The Okinawa I-Praise gets a new 3.3 kWh lithium-ion battery that can be fully charged in around 4-5 hours. Once it is fully juiced up, the electric scooter can run up to 139 kilometres on a single charge (claimed!). It also has multiple riding modes and application-based connectivity features. The new Okinawa I-Praise electric scooter is priced at Rs. 1.08 lakhs, Ex-showroom Delhi.

Hero Electric Optima ER

The new Hero Electric Optima ER is also the most economical scooter in our list. It gets a 51.2V/30Ah lithium-ion battery that comes paired with an electric motor. This electric motor churns out 1200W (1.6 PS) of power and a good amount of torque. The top speed of the electric scooter is rated at 42 kmph and it can run up to 122 kilometres on a single charge. This electric scooter can be fully juiced up in just around 4-5 hours. The all-new Hero Electric Optima ER (Extended Range) version is priced at Rs. 74,640, Ex-showroom Delhi.
