Toyota has begun the deliveries of their recently launched mid-size SUV, Urban Cruiser Hyryder in India. The prices of the same start from Rs 10.48 lakh and go all the way till Rs 18.99 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. It competes with Skoda Kushaq, MG Astor, VW Taigun, Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and Maruti Grand Vitara.
Under the hood, Hyryder is equipped with two engine options - a 1.5L strong hybrid and a 1.5L mild hybrid. The former is a 1.5L TNGA engine which is a three-cylinder unit that pumps out a usable power and torque of 114 bhp and 122 Nm, respectively. This engine is mated to an e-CVT and the highlight is 27.97 kmpl mileage which is the best in the segment.
The mild hybrid motor belts out 102 bhp of power with a peak torque of 136.8 Nm. It gets mated to a five-speed manual transmission as standard and a six-speed torque converter automatic as an option. This engine gets a FWD set-up but buyers can also pick AWD as an option. The AWD gets mated to a stick shift gearbox only.

Feature-wise, Hyryder is loaded up to the brim. It gets a panoramic sunroof, 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, automatic climate control, ventilated cooled front seats, 360-degree camera, power-folding ORVMs, wireless charging pad and more.
Safety equipment includes multiple airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, traction control, tyre pressure monitoring system, hill hold assist, a high-speed alert system, front seat belt reminder, reverse parking sensors, all-wheel disc brakes and more.
