Pros & Cons of Volkswagen Tiguan
Should I buy the Tiguan?
The Volkswagen Tiguan is a good option for the crossover SUV segment. It has some tough rivals, yet it sells in decent numbers. The tiguan has only one petrol engine and one variant. It provides pure German driving pleasure and the best in class features on offer . If you prioritize a diesel engine or a better product in this segment , explore the Toyota Fortuner, Hyundai Tuscon, or Isuzu MUX.
- The front design of the Tiguan boasts a charming look as an elder brother to the Taigun. The LED Headlights provide good illumination at night. The chrome used on the front grill and lower down enhances the premium appearance of the vehicle.
- From the side proportions, it seems more of a crossover than a full-size SUV. It is similar to the Taigun in design. The 18” alloy wheels provide good comfort on the inside. The subtle use of chrome gives it an aesthetically pleasing character.
- The rear is the main difference between the younger siblings. The taillamp design is elegant and the use of chrome lower-down makes it more appealing.
- The suspension setup of the Tiguan is slightly on the softer side. This makes it a driver's delight for an enthusiast but the comfort is increased. The 18-inch alloys help provide a good ride quality. The 235-profile tires offer stupendous grip levels on the tarmac.
- The rear seat comfort is decent and bumps and potholes do filter in sometimes. The steering wheel offers a good amount of feedback. At triple-digit speeds, it provides confidence to push hard beyond the limits.
- It comes equipped with a 2.0 L Tsi motor, with automatic transmission. It offers brilliant performance. However, fuel efficiency has always been a concern.
- The 2.0 L Tsi motor is very powerful in terms of performance. The 190 BHP and 320 Nm torque are a driver’s delight. There is some low-end lag which can be felt but post-2000 RPM the mid-range is the sweetest with the turbo pull.
- When we step inside, the second row offers a good amount of space. It also features some added practicality, such as TYPE-C ports for charging at the rear. The seats offer brilliant comfort. They have good shoulder room for 3 passengers and great under-thigh support.
- In the front row, the fit-finish quality has improved. The 10.1-inch touchscreen with wireless connectivity takes the experience a step further. The instrument clusters have different displays and features. Ventilated seats, wireless charging, and sunroof take the lead.
- The dual-zone climate control air conditioning and the 4x4 mode selector help to navigate through rough terrains.
- It comes equipped with 6 airbags, ABS, EBD, and traction control. It also has many other safety features that enhance passenger security.
- The robust build quality and the German feel are continued in this beautiful SUV.
