Pros & Cons of Bajaj Pulsar N150
Bajaj Pulsar N150 Detailed Review
The design of the N150 has been carried forward from the N160 bike. Hence, it embraces a complete streetfighter outlook with an aggressive overall design. At the front, it gets a projector headlight with LED DRLs. Adding to the appeal are the front fender design and the belly guard which are contrasting with the overall design language of it. Meanwhile, the side profile is more or less the same as the N160. Although, it do get a kick start, a single seat and a tubular grab handle for the pillion. At the rear, the LED taillight is unchanged along with the rear tyre hugger. It is available in three colours – red, white, & black. Bajaj plans to add a sky blue colour option to it in the coming months.
Summary
The design & looks of the N150 are similar to the N160 streetfighter bike but only with slight differences.
The Pulsar N150 is a smart looking motorcycle with bulky looks. However, it dimensions are smaller when compared to the N160 from which its design has been inspired. The bike does look bulky from the front end but the rear profile is not same as the N160. It gets 17-inch alloy wheels and the front tyre is a 90/90 R18 while the rear tyre is 120/80 R18 section. The fat profile of tyres look good as well as give it a bulky & butch appeal. The fuel tank of the N150 is 14-lts which give it a long-distance riding range on a complete fuel tank. Overall the motorcycle look aggressive and big on the road when compared to its rivals.
Summary
The Pulsar N150 is big in dimensions and stands at par with the N160 in overall size.
The powertrain used on the Pulsar N150 is similar to the one seen on the Pulsar P150. This engine is one of the most refined & powerful made by Bajaj ever. We loved it on the P150 and now it is available on the N150 as it is. Spec-wise, it is a 149.68cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine which makes a peak power of 14.5 PS & a peak torque of 13.5 Nm. It is offered with a 5-speed transmission which is a constant mesh unit. Sadly, there is no slipper assist clutch but the gearbox is slick to use & precise as well. This engine doesn’t vibrate and remains in powerband from as low as 3,000 rpm. The mid-range is the sweet spot of this engine. It can also reach a top speed of upwards 120 kmph. If you want to ride it in higher gears, the engine doesn’t snatch at low speeds which translates into a good fuel economy. Upon our tests of the P150, we achieved 38+ kmpl of fuel economy. Hence, we expect that the N150 can also churn out good fuel efficiency numbers.
Summary
The engine used on the Pulsar N150 is the same as seen on the P150. It is a refined and powerful powertrain which offers good fuel economy as well.
As the Pulsar N150 is based on the N160’s platform, it uses a lot of shared components. One such area are the tyres & brakes. The 17-inch alloy wheels use tubeless tyres which are a bit skinny than the N160 tyres; for the obvious reasons. The front section is a 90/90 while the rear tyre is a 120/80 section. Additionally, the front brake is a disc while the rear brake is a drum setup. This means that the N150 comes only with a single-channel ABS. In terms of features as well, it gets a similar plethora of tech stuff as seen on the N160. The semi-digital speedometer houses a digital MID which shows all of the necessary info. It includes DTE, gear position indictor, real-time & average fuel economy, clock, & other standard information. Meanwhile, the safety list includes a single-channel ABS for all of the variants.
Summary
The Pulsar N150 gets a similar structure as seen on the N160. The features list on it is also at par with the segment rivals.
