Expert Verdict on Pulsar NS 400Z
‘Excellent value-for-money bike’ is what we have to say about the Pulsar NS400Z. The bike looks nice, rides fast, and has a superb engine performance as well as fuel economy. Moreover, the price tag on it is equally attractive, considering the capacity of the engine offered. The only miss on the bike is its okay build quality and lack of modern features like a TFT screen.

Pros & Cons of Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z
Should I buy the Pulsar NS 400Z?
Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z is a street naked sports bike that is meant for fun riding and powerful performance. Its 373cc engine makes it worth every penny spent. However, its commanding riding position and firm seat makes it less enjoyable on long trips. We suggest it to the consumers looking for a powerful motorcycle but are running on a strict budget constraint. The overall value of the Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z is superb and beats the rivals by a huge mark.
- Pulsar NS400Z has an identical design to the other N series Pulsar bikes. The front headlight is unique and offers a good throw because of the projector setup. However, the rear design feels like a smaller NS bike. Overall, its design is slightly better than the smaller Pulsar N250. It doesn’t offer a very unique appeal.
- Riding comfort of the NS400Z is also decent. The front-set handlebar and center-set footpegs create a commanding riding position. While this position feels good for small distances, long touring can become uncomfortable on it.
- The split seat looks good but the cushioning on it is on the lesser side. It is best-suited for local rides or short distance rides.
- Powered by a 373cc liquid-cooled engine, the performance offered by the NS400Z is thrilling enough as per the segment standards. This is the same engine as used on the Dominar 400. However, the crisp tuning of throttle and strong mid-range helps in a quick pace riding.
- The vibrations are also very well controlled. In fact, even near redline, there is only a slight buzz that seeps onto the handlebar and footpegs. Overall, it remains very calm throughout the rev band.
- The engine of Pulsar NS400Z can easily deliver 30-35 kmpl of fuel economy within the city; if ridden sanely.
- All thanks to the USD front forks and a preload adjustable monoshock at rear, the ride quality of Pulsar NS400Z is very calm and poised. It remains very stable around the corners and also at three-digit speeds.
- The perimeter frame of the NS400Z has been tuned for a quick performance and agile handling. The bike feels very easy to handle within the city and filtering lanes is a piece of cake. Also, around tight corners, the feedback from the bike is very positive for the rider.
- If you’re a feature lover, the LCD console of the NS400Z might not attract you. But, it does the job. It has a MID, Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, and more. Also, the bright LED lights all-around make it look distinctive on the road. While we wish that this list could’ve been better, the pricing justifies everything on offer.
- To make sure the rider and pillion remain safe, Bajaj has equipped the NS400Z with a dual-channel ABS as standard. It also gets 4 riding modes: Road, Rain, Sport, and Off-Road. Moreover, the traction control and switchable ABS come handy during the tricky riding parts.
