KTM 250 Duke Detailed Review

250 Duke Design 9 /10

The recently introduced Duke 250 introduces a fresh design approach while retaining its iconic profile. This update brings substantial changes, resulting in a more robust and modern look. In particular, compared to the 2023 model, the LED headlight now has a broader appearance, featuring more distinctive boomerang-shaped daytime running lights (DRLs). The design enhancements also extend to the fuel tank shrouds, which are now more prominent and noticeable, complemented by a redesigned tank. Furthermore, a new split-seat configuration reveals the exposed rear subframe, adding to the bike's refreshed aesthetics. With its newly introduced metal fuel tank and premium surface finishes, this latest addition to the Gen-3 DUKE lineup showcases distinct visual elements.

Summary

In terms of design, the Duke 390 has undergone substantial revisions, resulting in a more aggressive and captivating appearance.

250 Duke Hardware 9 /10

There have been substantial changes, which include the introduction of a new steel trellis frame, an off-set monoshock, a redesigned swingarm, lighter 17-inch alloy wheels, and enhanced brakes. The latest Duke 250 showcases a fresh, curved lightweight swingarm that seamlessly accommodates the right off-set rear mono-shock. It features an entirely new steel trellis primary frame paired with a pressure die-cast aluminum subframe. The adoption of a two-piece frame, redesigned wheels, and brake discs has been carefully engineered to achieve significant weight reduction across all models. These improvements have resulted in the Gen-3 KTM DUKEs achieving their highest-ever power-to-weight ratio. Moreover, the traditional steel subframe from the previous model has been substituted with a cast aluminum design. Despite its more delicate appearance compared to its predecessor, the new chassis is claimed to offer improved torsional rigidity, thereby enhancing rider feedback.

Summary

The updated hardware in the Duke 250 has not only reduced its weight but also enhanced its performance orientation.

250 Duke Features 9 /10

In terms of features, the newly launched KTM Duke 250 incorporates several noteworthy additions. These include the Quickshifter+ for seamless gear changes, advanced Ride-by-wire technology, a slipper clutch for smoother downshifting, a user-friendly 5-inch LCD display that offers smartphone connectivity with turn-by-turn navigation functionality, a versatile 800 mm seat height, with the option to choose an 820 mm seat, an enlarged airbox, and the convenience of a Type-C charging port.

Summary

The 2024 Duke 250 is equipped with an extensive range of features that cater to both everyday commuting needs and high-performance track experiences.

Looked killer, had a dual-channel ABS feature, never compromised in performance, and promised a decent fuel economy for all that is offered. Very impressed as this motorcycle has the same body and best performance feel. Riding in higher gears and lower RPMs up until 6000-7000 RPM gives about 25 km/l to 27 km/l in the city and 29 km/l to 31 km/l on a highway ride.
