If you're an enthusiast looking to have off-road adventures and long-distance touring, the new Himalayan 450 could be an excellent choice for you. Royal Enfield has a reputation for making reliable touring motorcycles, and the previous-generation Himalayan has already proven its reliability. The latest Himalayan 450 lives up to this legacy. While you could consider the KTM 390 Adventure X or the Triumph Scrambler 400X in the same price range, Royal Enfield's extensive service network gives confidence, assuring you can take the bike anywhere without concerns. It's capable, packed with features, aesthetically pleasing, and most importantly, it upholds the legacy of being India's best budget-friendly adventure motorcycle.
Himalayan 450 Price & Variants: The Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 price starts from Rs 2.69 Lakh and goes up to Rs 2.84 Lakh for the Hanle Black variant. The new Royal Enfield Himalayan is available in four variants: Base, Pass, Summit, and Hanle Black, distinguished by their colors. The base variant features a single-tone Kaza brown color. The Pass variant offers Poppy Blue and Himalayan Salt colors, while the Summit variant is available in Hanle Black and Kamet White. If you prefer a black adventure bike with golden rims, you might want to consider the Hanle Black variant. However, if you're good with a single-tone color, the base variant stands out as one of the most cost-effective options.
Engine: The Royal Enfield adventure tourer comes with a new 450cc engine and produces about 40 bhp of peak power and about 40 Nm of peak torque from this brand-new powertrain. It has a longer stroke and is paired with a six-speed transmission. The motorcycle also has ride-by-wire technology along with traction control and even riding modes.
Rivals
Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 vs KTM 390 Adventure: The Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 carries on the legacy of the original Himalayan. It's already well-known in India because the previous version was quite popular. The new Himalayan has fresh features, a new look, improved hardware, and more comfortable riding positions. These qualities make it a direct competitor to the KTM 390 Adventure. Both bikes have a decent set of features, but the Himalayan stands out with its larger 450cc engine. In comparison, the KTM has a smaller 373-cc engine but produces 3 bhp more power. The base Adventure X variant of the KTM has fewer features and a higher price tag than the new Royal Enfield Himalayan 450, and the top-spec KTM Adventure 390 price goes over Rs 3 lakh.
Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 vs Triumph Scrambler 400X: The new Himalayan is in competition with the recently launched Triumph Scrambler 400X. Although both motorcycles come with a good range of features, the Himalayan is better suited for off-road adventures, while the Scrambler 400X has limited off-road capabilities due to its alloy wheels. The Himalayan has a larger engine displacement, and even though both bikes have the same power output, the Himalayan boasts higher torque. In terms of features and hardware, the Himalayan offers superior features like integrated Google Maps, switchable ABS, ride modes, and more. When it comes to pricing, the Triumph is more budget-friendly than the Himalayan 450. However, the Himalayan carries the legacy of being a well-established off-roader in the Indian market, while the Triumph is a new entrant.
