2021 Lamborghini Huracan EVO RWD Spyder Unveiled; India Launch?

Lamborghini has chucked in a new open-top Huracan to the existing line up of three Huracan models - Huracan EVO, Huracan EVO Spyder, Huracan EVO RWD and the latest one is the Huracan EVO RWD Spyder. The new spyder model is exactly the same as the Huracan EVO RWD but sports a soft-top roof which can be opened/closed in just 17 seconds at speeds of up to 50 km/h.

We can't expect meek numbers from a Lamborghini and this one is no exception. Under the rear glass is an extremely potent 5.2-litre naturally aspirated (read last of its kind) V10 motor which churns out a whopping 610 hp and 560 Nm of torque and given that all those Italian horses go straight to the rear wheels, you have to have a tyre retailing chain to shod new rubber on the wheels every day. The engine is mated to a clever 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox for seamless shifts. Despite having some extra kilos over the dry weight, at 1509 kgs, it isn't a bulky bull as it does nought to a ton in just 3.5 seconds and tops out at 324 km/h, which is just 1km/l short on the hardtop variant.

The grip has been taken care of by the super sticky Pirelli P Zero tyres shod on 19-inch alloy wheels and you can also get optional 20-inch rims with carbon-ceramic brakes. Don't think about oversteer and losing grip, Lamborghini's P-TCS comes to the rescue, it manages the power delivery depending on the amount of traction and even let you swing the tail out for a little before getting you in line again.

The interiors of the Lamborghini Huracan EVO RWD Spyder are equally impressive. A vertically stacked 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment which sports both Android Auto and Apple Car Play takes the centre stage of the dashboard. The customised sports seats will cosset you from the brutality this car shows in corners. And that V10 growl and high-speed pops and bangs are like no other. Arguably the last of its kind in the high days of turbocharging and downsizing.

As the Indian market is very important for Lamborghini, we will see this new champ rolling on the Indian roads real soon and this time, not only the sound will grab the attention but the open-top stance too. We saw the launch of the hardtop EVO RWD last year in India, carrying a price of 3.22 crores ex-showroom, Delhi. This one will be a tad dearer which is proportional to the extra chunk to eyeballs it will grab on the road.
