The Yamaha Ray ZR 125 Fi Hybrid has been designed like the non-hybrid variant of the scooter. The overall design appeal of the Ray ZR attracts the younger audience which wants aggressive & sharp looks. The looks and style of the Ray ZR 125 Fi Hybrid have remained the same as the non-hybrid model. Some exclusive styling treatments include block pattern tyres, knuckle guards, slightly sportier graphics, and body panels. The lines are edgier with sharper contours to give the scooter a more defined form. It has got muscular design, Y- Y-shaped DRL, and an apron-mounted headlight. Yamaha has been known for making one of the most performing and technically sound engines. The Ray ZR is no different as it comes with the latest Hybrid technology for better fuel economy. In the new Yamaha Ray ZR 125 Fi Hybrid the Smart Motor Generator (SMG) has been introduced. It works like an electric motor and provides power assistance when taking off from a standstill or going up a hill. The SMG also serves as a motor. It reverses the direction of electricity release, providing the advantages that include a Quiet Engine Start System, and Automatic Stop & Start System. It offers a 125cc air-cooled, fuel-injected single-cylinder engine that produces 8 hp at 6,500 rpm and 10.3 Nm at 5,000 rpm. It stops the engine when it is standing and starts it by twisting the throttle, saving up to 1.9cc of fuel every minute, which is 4% more than before. In terms of chassis setup, nothing much has changed from the previous models. Telescopic suspension is present in front and a single-sided coil spring is at the rear. The disc and the drum brakes are 190mm which handle the braking duties. Customers can also choose drum brakes at both ends.
The indicator light notifies when the Power Assist function is active. This fuel economy economy indicator, thus, helps in saving fuel, especially during bumper-to-bumper traffic time. In the new Yamaha scooter, the driving force at the rear at low speeds has been improved by 30%. The acceleration is from 0 to 200 metres. Power in the 30-60 km/h range, has been improved by 30%. UBS (Unified Braking System) has been developed for the better stopping power of the 2-wheelers. UBS links the front and rear brakes with the rear brake pedal. UBS helps to reduce braking distance & additionally helps in achieving better handling in tricky road conditions. An in-built side stands engine cut-off switch is available.
The USB charging socket is available as an accessory. The stop-start feature is another contributing factor. The ride is firm at low speeds, and the suspension transmits undulations to the rider.
