Citroen Basalt Coupe Spotted
The Basalt will feature a split headlamp design with integrated LED DRLs similar to the C3 Aircross SUV, an upright front fascia with horizontal slats below the grille, the fog lamps placed on the bumper, and a silver skid plate shown in the concept image which can make debut in the final production-spec version.
The sloping roofline is evident on the sides, giving it a coupe look. The tires on the test mule are steel wheels which seems to be a lower-spec model. Also, the ORVMs will be blacked out on the side and the door handles will be flat type similar to the C3 Aircross. The rear will get a wraparound LED tail lamp.
The test mule also gave a glimpse of the interior which showed a large touchscreen infotainment, a similar steering wheel design as other Citroen cars, manual ORVM adjustment, grey seat upholstery, and manual handbrake were visible. This might be a lower-spec model and the upper spec might feature electric ORVM adjustment.
Citroen Basalt Engine Specifications
The upcoming Basalt Coupe SUV is expected to get the same 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine as the C3 Aircross. This engine produces 109 bhp of power and 205 Nm of peak torque. The brand might give the option of a 6-speed manual and an automatic transmission with the SUV.

Verdict
Citreon Basalt Coupe SUV will be the fourth product in Citroen's India lineup but it needs to be a premium quality product to compete with rivals like the upcoming Tata Curvv and other mid-size SUVs. Citroen is currently doing a lot of cost cutting which results in less appealing interior of the vehicles. The Basalt Coupe is expected to be priced in the range of Rs 12-15 lakh (ex-showroom).
