Orxa Energies, an electric vehicle startup headquartered in Bengaluru, revealed its first electric motorcycle the Mantis in 2019. The company is now gearing up to introduce the production-ready version on November 21. Originally scheduled for production in 2020, the motorcycle's manufacturing was delayed for various reasons. It's worth noting that the final production specification may undergo alterations compared to the initially showcased version.

Orxa Mantis Electric Motorcycle
When initially unveiled in 2019, the Orxa Mantis was equipped with six swappable batteries, totaling a combined capacity of 9kWh. The brand will now opt for a fixed battery setup in the motorcycle while maintaining the same battery capacity. Currently, specific features and other details remain undisclosed. Nevertheless, the pre-production model featured a digital instrument cluster. Regarding performance, Orxa has asserted that the motorcycle has the capability to achieve a top speed of 140 kmph with a range of 200 km.
In terms of design, the Mantis showcases a naked aesthetic characterized by a sharp and aggressive front profile featuring a dual-barrel headlamp. The side profile features a split seat setup, with a significant portion dedicated to housing the battery pack. Towards the rear, it is equipped with split grab rails and an LED tail lamp.

In June of this year, Orxa Energies inaugurated a new manufacturing facility in Bengaluru. This facility integrates battery assembly, an R&D center, a testing facility, and an internal test track.
Verdict
Orxa's entry into the growing electric two-wheeler market is expected to generate excitement, given the appealing nature of its product. While the current electric motorcycle segment predominantly features commuter bikes, the Orxa Mantis stands out as one of the sportier options, boasting an attractive design.
