It is not necessary that the fuel which you are filling in your car is completely free from impurities such as dirt, dust and water. Due to these impurities, the complete efficiency of fuel to completely burn definitely gets affected, which in turn affects the overall performance of the engine. Here is a list of few problems due to impure fuel which may arise in the car.

Following are the common problems which the engine of your car suffers if the fuel is not completely free from impurities:-
1. Loss in acceleration If the bad fuel enters into the combustion chamber of the engine, the impurities present in it will clog the injectors. Due to this, the chambers will get an insufficient amount of fuel for combustion, resulting in loss of power and acceleration.
2. Damaged fuel filter The main purpose of the fuel filter is to separate the fine impurities from the fuel filled in the tank. However, if the impurities are larger in their coarse than expected, the internal components of the fuel filter will get damaged.

3. Variations in speed while driving Due to impurities in the fuel, the consistency in the amount of fuel fed in the combustion chamber will get affected. This inconsistency and abrupt flow of fuel will lead to variations in the acceleration of the vehicle while driving.
4. Engine starting issues While cranking the engine, if the fuel is mixed with contaminants and water, the engine will not start at all or will start after a host of multiple cranks.

5. Engine stops working suddenly The impurities present in the fuel will cause hindrance to the flow and combustion process of the fuel from the fuel tank to the combustion chamber. However, the constant accumulation of impurities in fuel will lead to clogging of fuel injector at a whole, due to which the engine will stop working once and for all, or will suffer from jerks.
