1. Advanced Digital Cockpit and Infotainment

The first and one of the most important upgrades in the new Taigun is its enhanced interface. Inside it features a large 25.65 cm touchscreen infotainment system along with a 26.03 cm fully digital instrument cluster. This improved setup gives you better graphic quality, smoother usability and connected tech features, including voice assist powered by ''Hello Volkswagen.'' Beside this it also offers wireless connectivity with an integrated app ecosystem, enhancing convenience and giving the cabin a more modern, seamless experience.
2. Panoramic Sunroof

Volkswagen has finally introduced a panoramic sunroof to the Taigun, a feature that has become a key expectation of the customers in this segment. Having a panoramic sunroof makes the cabin feel more spacious and roomier especially for rear passengers. Additionally, the inclusion of a summer function further adds to usability, making it practical for Indian conditions and enhancing the overall driving experience.
3. Turbo-Petrol Engines with New Gearbox

The Taigun carries forward brand tried and tested TSI engine range with key improvement. The 1.0-litre TSI engine generates 85 kW and 178 Nm and is now coupled with an 8-speed automatic transmission, similar setup offered in the recently launched Skoda Kushaq. The engine now offers smoother shifts and better efficiency. Meanwhile, the 1.5-litre TSI engine delivers 110 kW and 250 Nm, along with Active Cylinder Technology for improved fuel efficiency. Additionally, the inclusion of rear disk brakes on higher trims enhances the braking performance
4. Ventilated and Electrically Adjustable Seats

The 2026 Volkswagen Taigun has taken a big step forward in comfort with the addition of ventilated front seats and a 6-way electrically adjustable driver seat. Ventilated seats ensure better comfort during long drives and are especially useful in the hot weather condition. Further with the upgraded upholstery options and refined interior finishes, the cabin now feels more premium and tailored. All in all comfort has been well taken care of in the new Taigun, with all the segment essential features in place.
5. Volkswagen Taigun Facelift: Safety

Safety continues to be a core for Volkswagen. The new Taigun comes equipped with six airbags as standard across all variants and scores a 5-star Global NCAP safety rating. The mid-size SUV is loaded with over 40 safety features, including Electronic Stability Control (ESC), hill hold control, multi-collision braking, and front and rear parking sensors. This robust safety reflects the commitment of the brand for the passenger protection.
What Else Does It Offer?
Beyond these key highlights, the new Taigun packs in several thoughtful additions that improve everyday usability and appeal. It gets full LED lighting with auto-levelling headlamps, an illuminated front and rear logo, a rear windshield wiper with intermittent function, smart touch Climatronic AC, and a premium sound system. Other updates include new upholstery options, refreshed interior trims, and nine colour choices including two new shades, giving buyers more room for personalization.

Verdict
The 2026 Volkswagen Taigun feels like a smart, well-judged update rather than a radical overhaul. By focusing on features, comfort, and safety, Volkswagen has made it more appealing to modern buyers. While the engines remain unchanged, the added tech and convenience give it a stronger edge, making it a more competitive package in its segment.
