Jeep Compass & Meridian Price Hiked By Up To Rs 20,000

Jeep Compass has undergone a price adjustment, resulting in a consistent increase of Rs. 20,000 across the entire range. The revised pricing for the Compass now starts at Rs. 20.69 lakh for the Sport 2.0 diesel MT variant and extends up to Rs. 32.27 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom) for the Model S (O) Diesel 4x4 AT variant.
Similarly, Jeep India has implemented a price adjustment for the Jeep Meridian SUV, resulting in an increase of Rs. 20,000 across all variants. The revised pricing structure for the Meridian starts at Rs. 33.60 lakh for the base Limited (O) 4x2MT variant and extends up to Rs. 39.66 lakh for the top-end Overland 4x4 AT variant. Additionally, as part of this adjustment, the X and Upland variants of the three-row SUV have been discontinued.
Jeep Compass EV Indian Launch By 2026
Stellantis has officially announced the development of the next-generation Jeep Compass, which will be based on the advanced STLA-M platform. This innovative platform is currently in the developmental phase and is designed to serve as the foundation for the upcoming SUV. Notably, the STLA-M platform is engineered to accommodate electric variants, with plans for an electric version of the new Jeep Compass to be launched in India by 2026.
According to reports circulating online, the STLA-M platform is expected to support battery capacities of up to 98 kWh. Stellantis claims that this platform will offer flexibility with various battery pack configurations. The standard battery pack is projected to provide a maximum range of up to 500 km (WLTP), while an enhanced pack could potentially extend this range by an additional 70 km (WLTP).
Verdict
Starting off with the new year 2024, various carmakers are making an upward revision in the price list. Following the same are the Jeep SUV's and while it is a regular practise, the prices have been adjusted in accordance with shifting market dynamics. Both SUV's are good options in their respective segments and continue to attract buyers to the showrooms.
