With a two-tone dark grey contrast roof, full LED projector headlamps, and a striking alloy wheel design available in a variety of body-colored styles and finishes, the new Compass stands apart from most of the rivals. The styling of the Compass stands out with body-colored sill cladding, wheel cladding, and bumpers. Like before, Compass looks sassy and muscular when seen on roads. Compared to its previous model, it carries forward the same looks and design except for the upgraded front facia.
Up front, the grille design has been tweaked a little to make it look bolder and sharper. The redesigned visual features on the outside have enhanced the original design language of the SUV. The upgraded variant also features reflectors along with LED projectors. Compass is now definitely more feature-loaded, boasts powerful engines, and maintains the overall aesthetics of the car.

The Jeep Compass is available with petrol and diesel engine options. It also offers a choice of 4X2 and 4X4 drivetrain with manual and automatic transmission options. Talking about the petrol variant, Jeep offers a 1.4-liter turbo petrol engine producing 160 PS of maximum power and 320 NM of peak torque mated either to a six-speed manual or a DCT gearbox whereas the 2.0-liter turbocharged diesel engine is more powerful (170 PS) and can be had either with a 9-speed automatic transmission or a 6-speed manual one.
The petrol is a sufficiently smooth unit that offers enough performance in most usage conditions. While the low-end grunt is a bit dull, the mid-range performance is top-notch irrespective of the transmission on duty. The diesel, however, is the pick of the lot. The tried and tested 2.0-litre Multijet motor is a gem of an engine and impresses with the good torque spread as well as the fuel efficiency. It’s also among the most refined motors in this segment.
While the petrol engine available on the Jeep Compass offers enough power, it is the diesel motor that’s our pick due to the good mix of performance and fuel efficiency it provides
Though the car is priced a bit higher, it is still a worthy option as in its latest avatar, the Compass looks more muscular than the previous one, has proven off-road hardware, and well-sorted dynamics. The fantastic ride quality along with sure-footed handling helps it offer the best of both the worlds. The ride remains plush in most scenarios and even the body-roll is well-contained.
Plus, the 4x4 variant of the Jeep Compass features a rear axle disconnect system that seamlessly switches between two and four-wheel drive to help increase off-roading efficiency of the car on bad terrains. Compared to its predecessor, the facelifted model is much more capable off the road if you take into account the Trailhawk variant that comes with many additional bits that make it as accomplished off the road as traditional ladder-on-frame SUVs such as Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour.
The Jeep Compass is easily the best in business when you take into account the ride and handling characteristics. Besides, with the introduction of the Trailhawk variant, the Compass is really good off the road.
The Jeep Compass comes with over 60 safety and security features that keep both the front and rear passengers protected behind out there on the road. Thanks to such contemporary safety features that work in coordination with one another, the Compass turns out to be one of the safest in the segment. The Jeep Compass offers a set of six airbags, full-length side curtains for front and rear passengers, seat-mounted side airbags for front occupants, driver single-stage, and front passenger airbags which work together for the safety of its passengers.
It also features Electronic Parking Brake, All-Season Tyres for better grip and a sheer driving experience, Auto Hold Assist, Electronic Stability Control, and a 360-degree Parkview rear back-up camera with dynamic gridlines. The car also has a tyre pressure monitoring system which comforts the lives of the driver by displaying tyre pressure in the digital cockpit.
The Indian-made Jeep Compass bagged a full five star rating in the Australian NCAP crash test. This is the same car that is shipped from India. The same vehicle is sold in the Indian market, which means even the India-spec version should offer a similar level of safety.
The Jeep Compass facelift offers a plethora of safety features that should keep everyone safe in an unfortunate event of an accident.
