Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella First Look Review: Twins With eVitara But Not In Looks!

Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella Detailed Review
- The Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella takes a more sophisticated approach to styling, favouring clean lines, in line with its concept stages. Up front, Toyota’s latest design language is evident in the slim, high-set LED headlamps and the closed-off central section, which clearly signals its electric credentials. The bumper design remains minimal, with a compact lower air intake and vertical air vents that aim to maximise efficiency, which sets it apart from its twin, the eVitara.
-
From the side, the Ebella’s boxy proportions give it a solid SUV stance, closely mirroring its Maruti sibling. The squared wheel arches, upright glasshouse, and 18-inch aero-optimised alloy wheels strike a good balance between practicality and contemporary design. Subtle touches such as the C-pillar-mounted rear door handles and front-fender-mounted charging port add visual cleanliness along with practicality.
-
At the rear, the segmented LED taillamps avoid the now-common light bar treatment, keeping the design clean, while black bumper cladding adds a touch of ruggedness, making the overall appearance cohesive and subtle.
Urban Cruiser Ebella body specifications:
| Wheel Size | R18 |
| Seating Capacity | 5 seaters |

-
Inside, the Urban Cruiser Ebella mimics the Maruti sibling in layout and feature set. The upright dashboard layout with a twin-screen setup feels intuitive, pairing a digital driver’s display with a centrally mounted touchscreen. The new two-spoke steering wheel and gloss-black centre console with a rotary gear selector lend the cabin a modern, premium feel without being overly flashy.
-
Finished in a dual-tone black and tan theme, the interior feels warm and upmarket closely resembling the e-Vitara’s cabin,c carrying the same premium fit and finish. Depending on the variant, the Ebella offers a comprehensive feature list that includes a large touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a digital instrument cluster, fixed panoramic glass roof, powered driver’s seat, JBL audio system, ambient lighting, ventilated front seats, automatic climate control, a 360-degree camera and Level 2 ADAS with focus here, clearly on comfort, usability and tech rather than novelty.
-
Toyota offers the Urban Cruiser Ebella with two battery options- a 49kWh pack and a larger 61kWh unit. Both versions use a front-mounted electric motor, delivering 144hp in the smaller battery variant and 174hp with the larger pack, while the torque is 189 Nm for both configurations.
-
As for its range, the 49kWh version delivers an ARAI-rated 440km, while the 61kWh variant pushes that figure to an impressive 543km on a single charge. These numbers place the Ebella firmly among the more usable electric SUVs in its segment, especially for buyers looking for long travel plans.
