VF7 Highlights
On Target
Spacious and powerful EV with strong AWD performance; feels solid, planted, and premium on smooth roads.
What We Like
Vast rear seat and boot space; premium interiors with recline and big glass roof enhance comfort.
What We Do Not Like
Estate-like design misses out on road presence; small infotainment icons and basic plastics distract from polish.

VinFast VF7 Detailed Review
- The VF7 is similar to its younger sibling in terms of design, appearing more like a grown-up version of the VF6, featuring a familiar design language. It continues with the DRL strips running across the length of the bonnet, with the headlamps mounted lower below. The VF7 also gets a larger housing for the air vents below, along with a polished black surface for contrast.
- The VF7 also looks familiar from the sides as well. However, unlike its smaller sibling, this car comes with flush-fitting door handles, and additionally it also gets black cladding lower down for protection. The 19-inch alloy rims get aero-inspired design treatment. The
VF7 is available with a total of six paint options, and it continues with similar twin strips connecting the tail lamps at the rear, with a uniquely-shaped tailgate and slim vertical tail lamps.
VF7 body specifications:
| Wheel Size | 19 inch |
| Seating Capacity | 5 seaters |
| Ground Clearance | 190 mm |
| Boot Space | 537 liters |

- The VF7 comes with two battery pack options, which are available depending on the variant you choose. The Earth variant is available with the same 59.6kWh battery pack, which can be charged from 10-70 percent in a claimed time of 24 minutes. The other is a larger 70.8kWh battery pack which is available on the higher variants. This battery pack can be charged from 10-70 percent in a claimed time of 28 minutes.
- The lower variants of the VF7 are available in both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive versions. The front-wheel drive version is available with the smaller 59.6kWh battery pack, with 174bhp and 250Nm of torque on offer. There is also the larger 70.8kWh battery pack for the mid-spec variants, with output figures of 201bhp and 310Nm of torque, along with a claimed 0-100kmph sprint time of 9.5 seconds. The all-wheel drive variant produces 348bhp and 500Nm of torque, with a claimed 0-100kmph sprint time of just 5.8 seconds.
- All three variants get different claimed range figures, depending on the variant you choose. The Earth variants come with a claimed range of 438km on a single charge, while the Wind and the Sky variants come with 532km and 510km claimed range figures on a single charge respectively.
- The interiors of the VF7 are swathed in either black vegan leather upholstery, or with mocca brown leather upholstery, depending on the variant you choose. In terms of standard features, it gets a 12.9-inch infotainment touch screen, a coloured head-up display, projector headlamps with automatic levelling, heated ORVMs, cruise control, a 360-degree camera, rain-sensing wipers, a power-adjustable driver seat, auto-dimming IRVM, wireless smartphone connectivity, multiple drive and regen modes among other things.
- Some additional higher-trim features on the VF7 include adaptive cruise control, 8-way power-adjustable front seats with ventilation, an 8-speaker sound system, a Level 2 ADAS suite, powered tailgate, a fixed-glass panoramic glass roof, and dual-zone climate control among other things.
