Last Updated on 6th Jan'25: BYD India is participating in the upcoming 2025 Bharat Mobility Expo. The brand is expected to showcase new models in the Indian market, one of which is expected to be the BYD Dolphin. The BYD Dolphin is a small hatchback expected to be priced between Rs 10-12 lakh in India. 

Design: The BYD Dolphin offers a futuristic and attractive design language. Built on the brand’s ‘Ocean Aesthetic’ design language, it boasts a stylish front fascia with LED lighting, sharp creases on the side profile, and a connected LED taillamp with stylish light elements. 

Dimensions: The international spec BYD Dolphin measures 4,290 mm in length, 1,770 mm in width, and 1,570 mm in height. It boasts a wheelbase of 2,700 mm

Features: The interior of the Dolphin will be packed with an array of features such as a 12.8-inch rotating touchscreen infotainment, wireless charging, panoramic sunroof, automatic climate control, electrically adjustable front seats, ventilated seats, NFC-based keyless entry among other features. 

Powertrain: In the international market, the BYD Dolphin is available in two battery pack options: 44.9 kWh and 60.4 kWh. The former offers a range of 340 km and offers 70 kW of power and 180 Nm of peak torque, while the latter offers a range of 427 km and produces 150 kW of power and 310 Nm of peak torque. 

Price & Rivals: The BYD Dolphin is expected to be launched in India later this year and will cost Rs 10-12 lakh (ex-showroom). It will compete with the Tata Tiago EV, Citroen eC3, and other similarly priced EVs.
