Variant Recommendation
The most value-for-money variant of the E-Vitara is the base variant with BaaS (Battery-as-a-Service), which brings down the starting price to Rs 11 lakh, plus a battery EMI of Rs 3.99 per km. So, you will be paying only for the kilometres you drive. That said, it is equipped with the smaller 49 kWh battery pack, and its claimed range is 440 km.
So, if you want more range, the Zeta - the second variant in the lineup - makes the most sense, as it has a 61 kWh battery pack with a claimed range of 543 km. Plus, it comes equipped with all the important must-have features, making it the second-best option.
Expert Verdict on E Vitara
The Maruti e Vitara delivers very strongly on being a great urban electric car. It drives well with a balanced mix between ride and handling, offers a real world range of upto 450+km and does that in style. Entry level pricing is competitive and you can’t question Maruti’s new charging infrastructure, including the “e for me” app. That said, most rivals beat it hands down on luggage and passenger space, as well as the feature list. As a reliable urban EV with add-ons like free home charger and complimentary 1 year charging, the e Vitara makes for a decent purchase, if not a recommended one.

Latest On Maruti Suzuki E Vitara
Last Updated on 17th Feb'26: The Maruti eVitara has been finally launched at Rs. 10.99 lakh (Intro, BaaS). The eVitara represents a complete generational shift for the brand, introducing its new HEARTECT-e EV architecture, advanced driver-assist tech and a genuinely premium interior experience. It will be offered with two battery options and multiple ownership formats including outright purchase, subscription and BaaS battery leasing. The brand still hasn’t revealed full pricing yet, but an announcement is expected soon as the eVitara prepares to enter India’s fast-growing and highly competitive electric SUV segment.
Maruti Suzuki has drastically slashed its production targets for the e-Vitara EV by nearly 69 percent for the April-September 2025 period, reducing output from 26,500 to just 8,200 units. The move stems from a global shortage of rare earth elements - especially those needed for EV motors - due to China’s tightening export controls. Despite this setback, Maruti remains committed to meeting its annual goal of 67,000 units by March 2026 by ramping up production in the second half of the fiscal year, targeting 58,700 units. Maruti has also scaled down its long-term sales forecast and EV lineup, signalling strategic recalibrations amid ongoing supply challenges and mounting pressure in the electric mobility space.
