The Kia Syros EV makes a far stronger case than its ICE sibling, giving the Syros a fresh lease of life in India's fiercely competitive EV market. With two battery pack options, a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model, an EV6-inspired cabin, and a feature-rich interior, it ticks almost every box for a modern electric SUV buyer. Its only real drawback is the polarising design, which may not appeal to everyone. On paper, the Syros EV offers excellent value for money. While we are yet to evaluate its driving dynamics, the lower centre of gravity inherent to EVs should translate into a more planted and composed driving experience than the ICE version.

30-inch display and segment-leading feature list.
BaaS lowers the starting price to Rs 8 lakh.
171 PS electric motor offers strong performance.
V2L and V2V functionality.
What could have been better
Rs 20 lakh top-end price is steep for the segment.
Polarising design won't appeal to everyone.
Headlamps positioned at the bumper corners can be easily damaged.
Should I buy the Syros EV?
The Kia Syros EV is the iPhone of the automotive world, loaded with cutting-edge technology, a feature-rich cabin, and one of the largest battery packs in its segment. However, just like an iPhone, it isn't exactly affordable. It only starts to make financial sense with the Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model, especially in the lower and mid-spec variants. If you're after a premium, tech-first EV experience without stretching to luxury car territory, the Syros EV is one of the best options in its class.
