Kia Syros EV Variants Explained: Check What Each Trim Offers?

Kia has finally brought its compact SUV Syros into the electric fold, and the Syros EV carries over the same boxy, upright stance that has made the ICE version such a head turner, while adding the usual EV touches. The lineup is spread across seven trims, HTK, HTK+, HTX, HTK+ ER, HTX ER, HTX+ ER and X-Line ER, split between two battery packs. Here is how the features stack up as you move up the range. Let’s dive in more and find out which variant is the best among the line-up and makes the most sense.

Kia Syros EV: Variant and Battery Configuration

Syros EV

The Syros EV comes with two battery options, a 42kWh pack and a bigger 51.4kWh Extended Range pack. Unlike some rivals, Kia hasn't mixed and matched these across trims, the lower three trims get the 42kWh pack only, while the top four trims are Extended Range exclusive. Here is how it maps out.

The 42kWh motor makes 135PS and 255Nm, good for a claimed 443km range. Step up to the 51.4kWh pack and output rises to 171PS with the same 255Nm, and the claimed range jumps to 526km. Both packs use liquid cooled lithium-ion cells and support CCS2 (Combined Charging System Type 2) fast charging, with a full charge from a 100kW DC fast charger taking around 39 minutes.

HTK

Price - Rs. 13.49 lakh

The HTK is the base variant and the only one on offer with the 42kWh battery, yet Kia hasn't skimped much even here. You still get the brand's signature light elements and a properly modern cabin setup.

Kia Syros EV: Colours and Interiors

Buyers get nine monotone shades to pick from, including Ivory Silver Matte, Frost Blue, Gravity Grey, Pewter Olive, Magma Red, Ivory Silver Gloss, Aurora Black Pearl, Glacier White Pearl and an X-Line exclusive Xclusive Matte Graphite. On the inside, the HTK through HTX ER trims share the same Cloud Blue and Grey semi-leatherette cabin with mint green accents, the HTX+ ER switches to an Onyx Black and Off-White leatherette theme, while the X-Line ER gets its own Onyx Black and Hunter Green leatherette setup with matching accents.

91Wheels Recommendation

If you just want a well sorted electric compact SUV without going for the bigger battery, the HTX makes the most sense among the 42kWh trims. It brings in the sunroof, split rear seats and smart key features that make daily use noticeably nicer, without pushing you toward the Extended Range trims.

For buyers who want the longer 526km range, the HTX+ ER is the sweet spot. It brings in ventilated seats, the bigger navigation touchscreen and Kia Connect 2.0, and unless you specifically want the ADAS suite or the green interior theme of the X-Line ER, it covers pretty much everything you'd want day to day.

And if safety tech and driver assistance features matter most to you, the X-Line ER is the one to go for. It is the only Syros EV variant with Level 2 ADAS and gets the most complete feature list in the entire lineup, making it the pick for anyone who wants the car at its absolute best.
