Kia Syros EV Launched at Rs. 13.49 Lakh: 526 km Claimed Range

Kia has officially launched the Syros EV. Positioned as a value-driven electric SUV, the Syros EV pairs an aggressive starting price with an ownership package built to ease the biggest worries buyers have about going electric: resale value, battery health, and access to charging. The Syros EV goes on sale at Kia dealerships nationwide from 30 July 2026.

Design & Exterior

Syros EV

The Syros EV follows Kia's global EV design language with a bold, upright SUV stance. Up front, it gets Ice Cube MFR LED headlamps, LED fog lamps, and Star Map LED daytime running lamps wrapped around Kia's signature Digital Tiger Face grille. At the rear, matching Star Map LED tail lamps continue the theme, while first-in-segment auto streamline flush door handles add a modern touch.

Rolling on 17-inch crystal-cut dual-tone aero alloy wheels (a 16-inch option is also offered), the Syros EV is further finished with glossy black skid plates front and rear, glossy black roof rails, and distinctive side garnish trim that rounds off its SUV character.

The cabin is built around a first-in-segment 30-inch Trinity Panoramic Display Panel that combines a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch touchscreen, and a separate 5-inch climate control panel. This is paired with Kia Connect 2.0 offering over 95 connected features, OTA updates, and wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. A Harman Kardon 8-speaker sound system and a wireless smartphone charger round off the tech package.

Space-wise, the Syros EV offers 60:40 split rear seats that slide and recline, along with ventilated front and rear seats, a 4-way powered driver's seat, and a dual-pane panoramic sunroof. Kia has also added 64-colour ambient mood lighting for the front row, a dual-camera dashcam, rear sunshade curtains, multiple USB Type-C ports including a 100W fast-charging front port, and a 16-litre frunk with a cover.

Performance

The Syros EV is offered with two battery options, a 42 kWh pack and a larger 51.4 kWh Extended Range pack, both built on Kia's reinforced K1 platform using Nickel Manganese Cobalt (NMC) cells. The bigger battery is claimed to deliver a segment-best 526 km range (MIDC Full), making the Syros EV the first vehicle in its class to cross the 500 km mark. The smaller 42 kWh pack is rated at 443 km (MIDC Full).

Both battery packs draw a segment-best 171 PS, and the Extended Range variant is claimed to sprint from 0-100 kmph in 8.1 seconds. The battery pack carries an IP67 rating and uses a liquid-cooled thermal management system tuned for Indian climate conditions.

Charging

Syros EV

Kia says the Syros EV supports best-in-segment DC fast charging, topping up from 10-80% in just 39 minutes using a 100 kW charger. A Battery Conditioning function pre-heats or cools the pack to optimise charging speed. On AC, the car supports up to 10.8 kW of onboard charging.

Backing this up is K-Charge, Kia India's charging ecosystem accessible via the MyKia app and website. It aggregates over 20,300 charging points from 23 Charge Point Operators onto a single platform with an integrated route planner and unified payment wallet. On the ground, Kia backs this with 129+ dealerships equipped with DC fast chargers and 275+ EV-ready workshops.

Safety

Kia Syros EV ADAS

The Syros EV comes with Level 2 ADAS featuring 16 autonomous functions, including front collision-avoidance assist that covers cars, pedestrians, cyclists and junction-turning scenarios, smart cruise control with stop and go, and lane keeping and lane following assist. Parking is aided by a 360-degree camera, a blind view monitor, reverse parking collision-avoidance assist, and sensors on all sides.

On the core safety front, Kia has equipped the Syros EV with 25 standard safety features, including six airbags, electronic stability control, hill-start assist, a tyre pressure monitoring system, ISOFIX child seat anchors, rear occupant alert, and an electric parking brake with auto hold.

Ownership Benefits

This is where Kia is making its biggest pitch. The Syros EV is backed by an Assured Buyback programme offering up to 80% resale value after three years, pitched as the highest such guarantee on any car sold in India currently, available to buyers within 60 days of launch. Customers can pick a 3- or 4-year tenure and choose to retain, return, or replace the car at the end of the term.

Kia is also offering a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) option, which splits financing between the chassis and the battery. Under this route, ownership starts from Rs. 7.99 lakh, with a separate battery usage charge of Rs. 3.3 per km. Every Syros EV additionally comes with a lifetime high-voltage battery warranty covering 15 years with unlimited kilometres for the first owner (8 years/1,60,000 km for a second owner, and the terms don't extend to commercial use).

Rounding off the ownership package is My Convenience e-Plus, a bundled maintenance, extended warranty and roadside assistance plan available in a 4-year Premium tier and a 5-year Luxury tier with extended roadside cover.

Syros EV

The Syros EV is available across seven trims spanning the two battery packs, with nine exterior shades on offer: Glacier White Pearl, Frost Blue, Gravity Grey, Pewter Olive, Magma Red, Ivory Silver Matte, Ivory Silver Gloss, Aurora Black Pearl, plus an exclusive Xclusive Matte Graphite for the range-topping X-Line ER. Inside, buyers can choose from three cabin themes, including an exclusive Onyx Black & Hunter Green option.
