After rolling out a rather mysterious teaser, the Jeep Compass and the Meridian Trail Edition have been launched, with the former coming in from Rs 25.41 lakh onwards, while the latter begins from Rs 31.27 lakh onwards (all prices ex-showroom).

Jeep Compass And Meridian Trail Edition Details
As usual, the Jeep Trail Edition cars come with cosmetic enhancements and interior tweaks, while being based on the mid-spec or the top-spec variants of their regular versions. The Compass Trail Edition comes with decals on the hood and the side, along with matte black accents on the grille, and Neutral Grey treatment on areas such as the grille rings, headlamp and tail lamp surrounds, roof rails, ORVMs, badges, and red accents on the lower part of the front bumper. Additionally, the 18-inch dual-tone alloy rims come with a Granite Metallic Satin Gloss finish as well.
The interiors of the Jeep Compass Trail Edition come with black leatherette upholstery, along with red stitching on areas such as the steering wheel and the gear lever. Additionally, the dashboard comes with Ignite Red treatment, and it also comes with all-weather floor mats.
Meanwhile,the Meridian Trail Edition comes with similar treatment on the exteriors, but it adds on a Gloss Black-finished roof, along with Piano Black accents on the fog lamp surrounds, ORVMs, tail lamp surrounds, and red accents on the lower front bumper as well. Inside, it gets a black vinyl upholstery with ruby red accents, camouflage elements, and a piano black centre console.
Under the hood, both cars remain unchanged, with the Jeep Compass and Meridian Trail Edition featuring the same 2.0-litre, turbo-diesel powertrain, producing 168bhp and 370Nm of torque, paired to either a 6-speed manual transmission or a 9-speed torque converter automatic. The Compass Trail Edition is based on the Longitude variant, while the Meridian Trail Edition is based on the Limited variant.

Verdict
Jeep continues to launch special, limited edition versions of its cars, but with no next-gen models of the Compass and the Meridian planned, the car maker needs to do something, as both the cars have begun to look and feel outdated.
