Jeep has launched the Compass Sport FWD with a 9-speed automatic transmission (9AT) at Rs. 21.99 lakh, ex-showroom. This is the most affordable Compass ever offered in the Indian market. For the first time an automatic has been offered on the base variant of the Compass.
Powertrain
The Jeep Compass is offered with a 2.0-litre MultiJet II turbo diesel engine. It can produce power of 170 PS and 350 Nm of torque, which now comes mated with a 9-speed automatic transmission. It’s a front wheel drive SUV. For making the ride smoother, it has frequency selective damping (FSD) suspension and dynamic steering torque (DST).
The Compass has a range of options with manual and automatic transmissions with 2WD and 4WD on offer. This offering of AT in the base variant is an important move since the buyers are considering buying car with more convenience and smooth driving experience on daily basis.
Features
The Jeep Compass comes equipped with a 8.4-inch touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. For more ease in the cabin, it has steering-mounted controls and electrically adjustable door mirrors. For safety, it offers 6 airbags, auto hold and cruise control.
The higher variants of the Compass has a panoramic sunroof, 360-degree camera, electric tailgate and remote engine start and rain-sensing wiper.
Deliveries
The deliveries of the Jeep Compass will start from the second week of November across India. Jeep is also offering an optional accessory pack costing around Rs. 30,000. It includes ambient lighting, a dashcam with predictive safety features, a swoosh decal, all-weather floor mats and mud flaps.
