The Jeep Compass continues to soldier on in its current guise, which has become rather dated now. Teasers for the Jeep Compass Track Edition are out, and the carmaker says it'll be here 'sooner than we think.'

Jeep Compass Track Edition Details

The teaser does not really give away much, but we know that the car is likely going to be familiar in most aspects. The rounded, conventional SUV design will be carried over, but we can expect decals on the hood, sides and roof of the car. The teaser does show 'Track' decals and badging on the tailgate and various other places of the car.

The interiors will also likely remain unchanged, with the familiar dashboard layout to be carried over. The digital instrument cluster with customizable displays can clearly be seen, and we can also expect a new upholstery option with contrast stitching.

We are not expecting any changes under the hood either. It will likely carry on with the 2.0-litre, turbo-diesel powertrain, producing 168bhp and 370Nm of torque, paired to either a 6-speed manual transmission or a 9-speed torque converter automatic.
Verdict
The Compass is going to carry on in its current guise in India until it eventually gets discontinued. There are no plans to bring the new Compass to India, and that's a real bummer considering Jeep needs more action in the mass-market segment.
