Mercedes-Benz has silently updated its Indian website with the removal of the GLC SUV. The current Mercedes-Benz GLC SUV has been delisted now. Mercedes-Benz GLC SUV - Details
As visible on the Indian website of Merc, the GLC is no more on sale. We tried confirming this from a few dealers & the news is true. However, there are still stocks pending that dealers are trying to clear with exciting discounts. Speaking of the GLC, it is a mid-size SUV that is positioned above the GLA in India. Mercedes-Benz sold the GLC in good numbers but now it has started to slow down as it needed an update. A new iteration of it was already showcased the previous year. Now, Mercedes intends to debut it in India by the third quarter of this year. The new model features radical design & technical updates.
Meanwhile, the current model in India was being offered with an option of two engine types. The first one was a 2.0-lt turbo-petrol whilst the second powertrain was a 2.0-lt turbo-diesel engine. The petrol engine generated a peak power of 194 bhp & 320 Nm of peak torque. Meanwhile, the diesel powertrain made a peak power of 192 bhp & 400 Nm of peak torque. The last known price of the listed GLC was Rs 61.99 lakh.
Verdict
The SUV trend in India has been a boon for luxury manufacturers like Mercedes-Benz. The GLC, on the other hand, offered a premium mix of luxury, power, & off-road capabilities. Some of its primary rivals in India include - BMW X3, Volvo XC60, & Audi Q5.
