Volvo XC60 Detailed Review
- Believe me when i say, this second generation of XC60 made its debut in 2017 and received its first and the only facelift till now in 2021. Still after all these years, not for even a second it appears like an oldie. That’s because of how minimalistic and elegant it appears. One of the reasons for its elegance is that it's a SUV version of S90, so they essentially share the same DNA.
- The front profile looks magnetic with a perfectly shaped Volvo grille finished in chrome, and those hammer-shaped LED DRLs connecting with it just complete the whole look. Everything looks of perfect size, with no overtly done styling and the right amount of chrome. This has definitely aged well, especially now if we compare it with current design languages.
- The side profile is very simple and beautiful. The sporty 19-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels fit perfectly on this car, elevating its overall design. One distinctive feature of this car is the design carved out at the bottom of the doors. This tells us that it's an SUV and makes it look wider and ready to go on an adventure.
- Moving on to the rear profile, it features those large inverted L-shaped tail-lights, reminiscent of the bigger XC90. The bumper design is also very elegant, and a chrome slat is there too, adding another touch of premiumness.
XC60 body specifications:
| Wheel Size | R19 |
| Seating Capacity | 5 seaters |
| Ground Clearance | 216 mm |
| Boot Space | 483 liters |

-
Taking that timeless philosophy inside, the interior of the XC60 will still put a big smile on your face, as it's simple, packs the right amount of features, and has only two screens. Also, the central console is slightly tilted towards the driver’s side, making the infotainment a little easier to operate.
-
The dual-tone colour treatment works perfectly inside, and there is a satin silk trim on the front panel that blends seamlessly into the interior. Moreover, there are large windows and three on each side - giving the feeling of sitting in your living room.
-
Talking about the boot space - it's a massive 483 litres, more than enough for four suitcases. However, it can be expanded up to 1,410 litres after the second-row seats are folded down.
-
Onto features there are - 15 high speakers from Bowers & Wilkins, 12.3 Inch digital driver’s display, 9 Inch vertical infotainment display, power front seats with memory function along with front seat ventilation. Four zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof.
-
Volvo is known for their safety and it gets - lane keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, park assist, rear collision warning, and other Level 2 ADAS features.
-
If you’re a man of simple taste and prefer basic features over advanced tech, this is more than enough for you. However, compared to its direct competitors, it definitely falls behind.
-
Without a doubt, the overall quality has been retained and everything appears to be built to last, which its rivals have lost.
- Volvo XC60 is powered by a 2.0L turbo petrol engine producing 250 hp and 360 Nm of torque. It features an AWD drivetrain and does 0 to 100 km/h in 6.9 seconds. Moreover, it gets a mild-hybrid assistance system that helps with fuel efficiency and provides a slight boost when the accelerator is pressed hard.
