The A6 is now one of the oldest cars in its segment, with its closest rivals receiving generational updates earlier this year. Audi’s new naming strategy sees the use of even numbers for EVs and odd numbers for combustion cars. With the current A6 transitioning into the A6 e-tron electric sedan globally, its future in India remains uncertain. This could potentially see the return of the A7 badge in India. However, Audi India is yet to confirm anything.

Latest Update on 8th Sept'25: Audi has announced revised prices for several of its models, which have now become slightly more affordable following the GST rate revision announced by the Government of India on September 3, 2025. The revised prices are a welcome change, as most Audi cars are now cheaper by around Rs 3 to Rs 4 lakh. However, models like the Audi e-tron GT, Q8 e-tron, and RS Q8 haven't received any price benefits.

The Audi A6, currently in its 5th generation, hasn’t received any updates in a long time. However, Audi has globally revealed its 6th generation, which will launch in 2026 internationally, but there are no reports on the India launch.
