The exteriors of the new C-class are more futuristic and look similar to the E-class and the S-class sedans. The front design now embraces a new all-LED headlight with a sharp nose and big front grille. The front bumper is also redesigned with bigger air dams. The side profile is similar to the old car with subtle body line changes. The alloy wheel design is also new and matches the personality of the car. At the rear, the low-slung and shorter overhang look fabulous and the C-class has a new set of LED taillights as well. The rear end is also reworked completely to match the bigger siblings.

Mercedes-Benz has also updated the interior design of the new C-class completely. Due to better space management, the new C-class has more comfort. The dual-tone interiors are available in 3 various colours and the finishing is done in brushed aluminum. Mercedes has also redesigned the steering wheel which looks similar to the 3-spoke version of the E-class. The instrument panel is all-digital and there is a big infotainment system screen present in the mid of the dashboard as well. The overall quality, fit & finish is simply fantastic. The feature list of the new car is also well equipped.

The new C-class comes equipped with the most efficient powertrain options in the segment. The new car has an option of a petrol and two diesel engines. The first is C200 is a 1.5-lt, turbo-petrol that makes 201 hp of power & 300 Nm of torque. It is mated to a 9G-Tronic gearbox. It delivers a claimed fuel economy of 16.9 kmpl. The second is a C220d which is a 2.0-Lt, turbo-diesel that churns out 197 hp of power & 440 Nm of torque. It is mated to a 9G-Tronic gearbox. It delivers the class-leading 23 kmpl of ARAI-claimed fuel economy.
The third option is a C300d which is an AMG-line variant. It uses the same 2.0-Lt, turbo-diesel as that of the C220d but it makes 261 hp of power & 550 Nm of torque. This is also mated to a 9G-Tronic gearbox as well. This engine is capable of delivering an ARAI-claimed 20.37 kmpl of efficiency.

The ride quality of the C-class has been its forte since its global launch. The executive sedan can easily cocoon the cabin and isolate the passengers from what’s underneath them. Although, it is not a chauffeur-oriented car one won’t mind being driven around due to its best ride quality.
