The Suzuki V Strom SX ADV also marks the two-wheeler makers entry into the 250 cc segment.
The newly launched Suzuki V Strom SX 250 is based on the Gixxer platform, a strategy that weve recently noticed with the CB200X and Hornet 2.0. The Strom SX 250 promises to be an all-purpose motorcycle i.e. versatile for daily commute, highway cruising, and the occasional off-road ventures. As mentioned above, prices for the new baby Suzuki ADV starts from Rs. 2.12 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), available for purchase at Suzuki Premium Dealerships only.
It is available in three color options: Champion Yellow No.2, Pearl Blaze Orange, and Glass Sparkle Black. Mechanically, the ADV powered by the same 249 cc, 4-stroke single cylinder single-overhead-camshaft, oil-cooled engine that is good for 26.5 hp and 22.2 Nm of torque. Transmission duties are handled by a 6-speed transmission with constant mesh. So, mechanically theres not much difference with its street speed counterpart.
However, since this is a Strom badged bike, the SX gets the beak design inspired from the DR-Z Dakar rally race bike, and the DR-Z BIG off-road racer bike. The design remains constant with the rest of Strom line-up. The body design of the Strom-SX is based on the Toughness in a Slender Shell, wherein, its rugged, adventure looks is wrapped in a slender shell, with the engine wrapped in a compact manner.
The LED-octagonal shaped headlights seem to have been carried on from the Gixxer 250. But the LED taillights are separately designed. Some of the standout features include, the Suzuki Easy Start System, Suzuki Ride Connect, and a USB outlet for charging. The former makes starting the bike really convenient, while the latter lets the rider sync their mobile phones to the on-board console. It leads to further additional displays like turn-by-turn navigation, incoming call, SMS alert, Missed call, Speed exceeding warning, phone battery level and etc.
