Is the charger for electric cars common for all brands and Tata Punch EV?

Unfortunately, not all brands and types of electric automobiles have the same or standard chargers. Different manufacturers utilize different charging standards and connectors. Brands such as BMW, Ford, GM, Mercedes, Volkswagen, Hyundai, Kia, and others use the Combined Charging System as one of the primary charging standards/connectors for electric vehicles. It has a single inlet/connector that can do both AC and DC rapid charging. Nissan, Mitsubishi, and other older electric vehicle manufacturers use the DC fast charging standard known as CHAdeMO. For the electric cars offered in China, the majority of Chinese automakers follow to the GB/T charging standard. Tesla calls its own charging inlet/connector design which varies from those mentioned standards their own. In North America, J1772, the industry standard AC charging connector/inlet, is utilized for both Level 1 and Level 2 charging. In Europe and many other regions outside of North America, Type 2 Mennekes connectors are utilized for AC charging. Therefore, even if fast charging capabilities are somewhat standardized, different brands and geographical areas may use different charging inlets, connections, and communication protocols. EV owners may find it difficult to use different chargers or adapters for different vehicles or public charging networks due to the lack of a universal standard.
