The majority of the facelift's changes are seen on the hatchback's appearance. With a new front bumper and radiator grille, the car's front fascia now has a more modern and sporty appearance. The brand has updated the DRLs and added a gloss-black radiator grille. Instead of the boomerang design from the previous generation, the new DRLs are in a Y shape. Additionally, the brand has removed the projector fog lamps that were available on models from the previous generation model in favor of positioning DRLs in the place of fog lamps. Other elements, such as the headlamp style, the indicators, and other front profile features, are similar to those of the previous generation vehicle.

New Alloy Wheels

On the side profile, it gets new alloy wheels with diamond-cut design. The chrome door handles and turn indicators on the ORVM are further features of the side profile. The hatchback's general side profile resembles that of its previous model. The Grand i10 badging appears on the hatchback's C-pillar.

New Rear Profile With Connected Tail Lamp

2023 Grand i10 NIOS - Interior

The interior of the Hyundai's compact hatchback has been preserved largely the same as the model from the previous generation. The company still offers a dual-tone colour scheme in the cabin, and the utilization of colour tones has been done well to create an airy ambiance. The front seats includes a different lining, as well as NIOS branding near the integrated headrest. A taller individual could find the integrated headrest uncomfortable because it doesn't offer much comfort. Gloss black trim surrounds the infotainment display and side AC vents on the dashboard, giving it a Grey & Black colour scheme.

2023 Hyundai Grand i10 NIOS - Powertrain & Performance

The 1.2-liter NA petrol engine is still offered with the Hyundai Grand i10 NIOS facelift. 83 bhp and a maximum torque of 113.8 Nm are produced by this engine. This engine is coupled with a 5-speed manual transmission with an AMT unit as an option. The bi-fuel variant also uses the same engine, which has a maximum output of 95 Nm and 69 bhp. There is just a manual transmission available for this engine.

1.2-litre NA Petrol Engine

If we discuss the engine's performance, it provides a good initial pickup so that you don't have to entirely let go of the clutch to move the car. Power is delivered in a linear way throughout. When it generates its max torque, at 4,000 RPM, the torque delivery is enjoyable. The gears are smooth and easy to change in the manual transmission version. Although this engine is not designed to provide you full driving enjoyment, short gearing keeps you engaged and provides a small amount of fun.

It is a well-designed engine that provides balanced performance and good fuel efficiency. The manual variant's stated mileage is 20.7 km/l, but when we tested the car at high speeds and performed fast manoeuvres, the MID showed nearly 14 km/l, which is respectable in heavy city traffic.

2023 Hyundai Grand i10 NIOS - Ride & Handling

The Hyundai Grand i10 NIOS now boasts a smoother ride quality. The manufacturer managed to keep the NVH levels in check, but it didn't properly insulate the engines, allowing some noise into the cabin. Small potholes and speed bumps are readily handled by the car at moderate speeds, but if you approach potholes at a somewhat greater speed, you may experience jerk. The shorter suspension travel is to blame for this.

The steering response is smooth and on the lighter side, which is helpful when driving in cities and during rush hour. The simple steering control makes maneuvers simple. Height adjustments for the steering are also possible. The hatchback is ideal for tight spaces because of its narrow turning radius. The additional stability management features to aid in keeping the car steady under hard braking circumstances. The vehicle stops swiftly and has a superb braking reaction thanks to the good bite of the brakes.

2023 Hyundai Grand i10 NIOS - Rivals

The Maruti Suzuki Swift is the Grand i10 NIOS's main opponent. All Grand i10 NIOS models have been extremely smartly priced by Hyundai to be less expensive than Swift. Also, compared to the Maruti Swift, the NIOS now provides greater features and safety. The Grand i10 NIOS offers a comprehensive set of features, performance, and safety. This time, it will provide Swift with a much tougher challenge.

Verdict

For a buyer of a small car, the new Hyundai Grand i10 NIOS facelift offers a complete package. It comes with a refined, fuel-efficient engine, a CNG powertrain option, and a shedload of comfort and safety features. The new Grand i10 NIOS is now a more premium product in its segment and the first car in its segment to boast some features thanks to the newly added features. It has a starting pricing that is less expensive than its main rival at Rs 5.68 lakh (ex-showroom). The top model is also less expensive than the Swift and costs Rs 8.46 lakh (ex-showroom). Hyundai has consistently maintained a product line that is one step ahead of competing manufacturers, and the Grand i10 NIOS continues that trend.
