1.Braking smoothly:

It is common for beginners to clutch on brakes while off-roading. We understand that it is tough but we recommend you only use brakes to modulate the speed at which you are riding. By this, we mean that you should use the brakes to control speed rather than braking hard to come to a complete stop.
Mountain bikes have specifically designed brakes that are sensitive. If you brake heavily, chances are that you may be thrown off the cycle. The key is to adjust the speed before you encounter tricky paths, this way, you will have enough time to manoeuvre your mountain bike easily without completely coming to a halt. After all, trail riding involves riding fast through the tricky sections.
2.Try using all the gears:

Riding on mountain trails might seem like riding without prediction. However, this is not the case with pro-riders because they plan before encountering a tough trail. So, planning before riding is a good idea to have fun and be safe.
However, when it comes to beginners, planning things like which gear to opt for prior to the venture might feel like having too much on their plates. So the best thing to do is to try using lower gears when encountering inclines and higher gears to ride like the wind down the slopes. This way, you can save your energy which is most essential in trail riding ventures.

3.Keep calm and let the cycle do its job:

It is important to stay focused but you need to stay calm at the same time. One must let their body loose while trail riding because the stiffer you are, the harder it is going to be in manoeuvring the cycle.
Mountain biking involves letting the cycle roll down the mountain without effort so staying stiff and sitting on the seats will make the riding experience harder. When the cycle goes over roots or rocks, try keeping your buttocks off the saddle for staying comfortable and in control of your cycle. While riding on a downward terrain, stretch your elbow and knees so that you don't lose speed.
4.Set up the suspension:

Most of the mountain bikes which come out of the factory floor have front fork suspension and a rear shock absorber which are adjustable. The right adjustment of the suspension will provide better results. However, it solely depends on the rider's comfort and necessity. Some riders like a stiffer suspension setup whereas others like a softer setup. So before riding, make sure to adjust the suspension, especially the rear shock absorbers based on your requirement.
