BSA Gold Star 650 Details
The main attraction of the Gold Star is its design. Drenched completely in iconic retro design; it is sure going to be eye candy. The front is equipped with a round headlight and chunky telescopic forks. Additionally, the front fender seems to be made of metal. Being a neo-retro, we expect that it will only come with spoked wheels as visible in the spy pics. However, we're unsure about whether these are tubeless or not.
Meanwhile, the sculpted fuel tank looks amazing. It also has an offset-placed fuel cap. The sing;e-piece seat looks cushioning as it subtly merges into the stretched rear-end design. The rear fender has been made of chrome and embraces a rectangular taillight as well as round indicators. It also uses twin spring-type shock absorbers at the rear.
Speaking of features, it will be receiving a few latest techs such as the semi-digital instrument panel. The twin-pod cluster has reverse sweeping needles with a MID placed in between them. This design makes it look uber cool for the rider. Additionally, the chrome mirrors and long tubular handlebar help enhance the retro appeal.
Engine & Specifications
BSA is going to use a 652cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine on the Gold Star. This engine makes a peak power output of 45.6 PS and 55 Nm of peak torque. Additionally, a 5-speed gearbox is offered as a transmission on it. This means long gear ratios are going to play a major part in its performance due to the absence of 6 gears. Meanwhile, features like slipper-assist clutch & dual-channel ABS shall be offered as standard.
The Gold Star will directly rival the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 & even the Continental GT 650 as well. We expect it to be priced around Rs 3 lakh ex-showroom.
