KTM Duke 200, Duke 125 & RC 200 models are soon going to get updated exhaust designs in India. This is being done to raise the ground clearance of the bikes.
KTM India is up to something. How? Well, a leaked document has surfaced online showing to us that KTM Duke 200, Duke 125, & RC 200 are soon going to get new exhaust design. This is being done to provide the bikes with additional ground clearance. As per the reporting sources, the BS6 emission norms led to an underbelly exhaust design on these bikes. However, the new design has led to a considerable reduction in the ground clearance.

KTM Duke - RC New Exhaust Details
As visible in the leaked document, the new exhaust is going to be more compact and uplifted. Additionally, KTM is going to remove the silencer protector as well. This is to create more space under the belly of these models. Eventually, a new exhaust end can has also been designed to help create additional ground clearance.
According to the reporting sources, these changes will lead to an increment of up to 20mm on all of the above said models. The current ground clearance of the Duke models stand at 155mm and the RC stands at 156mm. However, the revision of exhaust design is expected to bump these figures up to 175mm and 176mm respectively.
Additoanlly, the new exhaust design also indicates that the rear monoshock suspension might be reworked. The preload adjustments might be altered and hence the ride quality may also change. Meanwhile, we are also suspecting that KTM is trying to get back its original raspy exhaust notes from the previous-gen models. However, we can not comment on this until the updated models get rolled out.
