KTM Duke 250 Detailed Review
Duke 250 Looks and Colour Options 9.5 /10
The Duke 250 is another another example of how fantastic KTM's bike designs have always been. Although KTM's family aesthetic does appear to be too similar, it is still one of the more attractive bikes out now. The motorcycle now resembles its older sibling, the Duke 390, in every way. A daytime-running LED and an all-LED headlight are now standard on the Duke 250. Additionally, it has brand-new, razor-sharp aerodynamic rearview mirrors, and its USD forks' lower half houses the reflectors. The Duke 250 lacks a visor because it is a naked streetfighter. When viewed from the side profile, the motorcycle appears to be quite well-defined.
The KTM Duke 250 gains an exposed trellis frame with a dual-tone finish to further emphasise its athletic style. This streetfighter motorcycle is entirely naked and features a split seat, a side-mounted exhaust, and a belly pan to cover the engine. The motorcycle's turn indicators and tail lamp are both LED versions on the Duke 250. Despite having a quarter-liter engine, the motorcycle looks angular and modern. The colour palette offers Dark Galvano and Silver Metallic as two options. The KTM Duke 250's striking body accents and matte paint finish undoubtedly raise the motorcycle's aesthetic value.
Summary
The new KTM Duke 250 BS6 looks very striking and it seems identical to the Duke 390. The KTM Duke 250 BS6 is currently available in India in only two colour variants.
Duke 250 Dimensions and Capacity 8.5 /10
The new KTM Duke 250 is 2072 mm long. The streetfighter's bare body is 831 mm wide and 1109 mm tall. The motorcycle's wheelbase measures 1357 mm. It won't be at all comfortable for short riders due to its 830 mm seat height, which is very high. The KTM Duke 250, on the other hand, offers a significant 185 mm ground clearance, which is more than other commuter motorcycles now available in India. You won't experience any discomfort while riding this motorcycle on any speed bumps or uneven roads. The new KTM Duke 250 BS6 weighs about 162 kg and features a 13.5-liter fuel tank. It is a quarter-liter streetfighter that is bare.
Summary
The KTM Duke 250 is a naked streetfighter with healthy proportions and massive ground clearance. This quarter-litre motorcycle is also quite lightweight and weighs 162 kgs.
Duke 250 Engine Performance and Mileage 9 /10
The KTM Duke 250 has a fuel injection system and a 248.8cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that complies with BS6. At 7250 RPM, its BS6 motor's maximum torque is 24 Nm, and at 9000 RPM, its maximum power is 29.5 bhp. His engine is connected to a six-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch. The slipper clutch function prevents the back wheel from locking while downshifting quickly. The KTM Duke family of bare-chested streetfighters shares the same exceptional outright performance with the Duke 250. With the Duke 250, performance is pure. The low-end punch of this streetfighter motorcycle is lacklustre, and at lower RPMs, it seems quite bland.
The KTM Duke 250, however, has top-end and midrange performance that is ballistic. The new Duke 250 performs brilliantly on highways and has a great mid-range punch. On this motorcycle, the user may easily cruise at speeds of 80 to 100 kmph all day long without feeling too worn out. Due to the Duke 250's focus on performance, its fuel efficiency is unimportant. The new 2021 KTM Duke 250 BS6 offers a respectable mileage of about 30-35 kmpl in real-world riding situations, yet, if you still insist on an exact number.
Summary
The new KTM Duke 250 BS6 offers excellent performance. The motorcycle always feels very exciting to ride and though it is a performance-oriented naked streetfighter, it offers a good fuel economy.
Duke 250 Tyres, Brakes and Features 9 /10
The KTM Duke 250's Steel Trellis Frame, which holds it up, enhances the motorcycle's handling and riding characteristics. Additionally, the 250 Duke makes use of premium bicycle components including WP suspension and ByBre brakes. The motorcycle has 17-inch alloy wheels fitted and is supported by a split-type trellis frame. Dual-channel ABS with Supermoto mode, which solely turns off ABS for the rear wheel, is part of the safety net. The 43 mm upside-down (USD) forks from WP with 142 mm of travel at the front and a mono-shock absorber with 150 mm of travel at the back manage the suspension on this streetfighter motorcycle. The suspension on the bike is a tad firmer.
The brand-new KTM Duke 250 has the same characteristics as its predecessor, including the same instrument cluster. The 2017 KTM Duke 250 has an orange backlit instrument cluster with a digital instrument cluster that shows a tonne of data, including a digital speedometer, tachometer, odometer, twin trip metres, clock, etc. The Duke 200 still lacks a slipper clutch, although the KTM Duke 250 does. At both ends of the bike, disc brakes are in charge of stopping the vehicle. It features a 300 mm disc up front, while the Duke 250 has a 230 mm disc unit at the back. Additionally, it has a switchable Bosch dual-channel ABS with supermoto mode.
Summary
The new KTM Duke 250 BS6 is a well-balanced quarter-litre motorcycle. The updated Duke 250 packs in decent hardware and it offers good braking performance too.
