Should I buy the Pulsar NS200?
- The engine power and tunning of the Bajaj Pulsar NS200 are among the best in its category. The liquid-cooled engine of it offers a very good redline performance. If you want to ride hard, it will reward you with a thrilling performance. However, the bottom end of this engine is weak. Moreover, you’ll need to half-clutch the bike to keep it moving in bumper-to-bumper traffic.
- The mid-range of its engine is very usable and torque-rich. Overtaking slow vehicles inside the city or even out on the highway is an easy affair. However, the redline performance also gives you ample power to overtake fast traffic on the highway.
- The ARAI-claimed fuel economy of the Bajaj Pulsar NS200 is 40.36 kmpl. In our test, the bike was able to return more than 35 kmpl inside the city despite riding it hard. It can easily cross the 45 kmpl mark on the highway if ridden sedately.
- The USD suspension at the front and preload-adjustable monoshock at the rear offer a subtle ride quality on the NS200. It remains pliant on bad and broken roads. It is only sharp bumps that unsettle it a little. Most of the time, the bike remains comfortable. With a pillion, the rear might feel soft but you can adjust it as per your requirement.
- The handling of NS200 is also very friendly to new buyers. The clip-on handlebar is slightly positioned forward to offer a sporty riding position. Overall the bike feels confident and easy to operate inside the city. The rider can easily tuck in and ride it fast on the highway if required.
- The Pulsar NS200 has a youthful and aggressive design. It has sharp fuel tank extensions and bright graphics. These features make it stand out on the road. Its large dimensions also give a sensation of riding a much bigger motorcycle. However, the Pulsar NS200 is starting to feel outdated. It has not changed its design since it entered the market.
- One of the weakest areas for NS200 is the features list. If you want a modern bike, the NS200 might not be the most feature-loaded option. It does get a semi-digital console with MID but there are no connected features on it that the rivals offer. Also, it doesn’t get any riding modes or such tech options.
- The Bajaj Pulsar NS200 comes equipped with disc brakes at both ends of it. The braking power of the NS200 is good and helps in controlling the bike at high speeds easily. Even after a long day of use, the brakes do not lose their bite. The rear brake might not feel as strong as the front disc brake but combined both offer good stopping power.
- In terms of safety, the NS200 has an option of dual-channel ABS that offers additional safety along with dual disc brakes.
