Royal Enfield Scram 440 Latest Update
Last updated on 3rd Nov'23 Design: Royal Enfield has been conducting thorough tests on several new motorcycle models, and one of them appears to be a scrambler motorcycle, possibly the Royal Enfield Scram 450, which has been spotted during these testing sessions.
Royal Enfield Scram 450 Features: The Scram 450 will compete against rivals like KTM and hence it’ll get all of the latest features. Some of the features will include – an LED headlight, LED taillight, LED sharp turn indicators, a fully digital instrument console, & Bluetooth smartphone connectivity along with navigation, etc.
Royal Enfield Scram 450 Engine: Royal Enfield has developed a new 450cc engine for the Scram as well as other bikes. This engine will also feature on the upcoming Himalayan 450 ADV; which is scheduled to debut in the coming months in India. As far as the online reports are indicating, it is going to be a 450cc single-cylinder engine. Additionally, it’ll also be the first-ever RE engine to get liquid-cooling tech. Hence, we expect that it’ll make power figures around 40 bhp. Also, a 6-speed gearbox with a slipper assist clutch is also expected on it.

Royal Enfield Scram 440 Detailed Review
- The new Scram has an identical design to the Scram 411, which itself was based on the old Himalayan.
- It continues to feature the same round headlight with an aluminium casing, but it is now an LED unit. The fuel tank is also the same, and the side panels have been retained.
- The 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheel setup has been retained. However, unlike the Scram 411 which got spoke rims, the Scram 440 gets aluminium alloy rims with tubeless tyres.
- There are five new colour schemes on offer; Force Blue, Force Grey, Force Teal, Trail Green and Trail Blue.
Scram 440 body specifications:
| Ground Clearance | 200 mm |

- The Scram 440 is powered by an air-cooled, 443cc mill, which gets a 3mm larger bore from the outgoing 411cc engine.
- This new engine produces 25.4bhp at 6250rpm and 34Nm of torque at 6500rpm, while paired to a new 6-speed transmission. This is about 1.4bhp and 2Nm more than the older Scram.
Scram 440 engine specifications:
| Transmission | Manual |
| Engine | 443 cc |
- The Scram 440 retains the split half-cradle frame. However, Royal Enfield says the frame has now been strengthened.
- The suspension setup has also been retained; 41mm forks with 190mm of travel, and a linkage-type monoshock with 180mm of travel.
- The Scram 440 continues to make use of a 300mm disc with a dual-piston floating calliper at the front, along with a 240mm disc with a single-piston floating calliper at the rear.
- The Scram 440 retains the semi-digital instrument cluster, with the regular speedo, odometer, fuel level readout and various tell-tale signs, along with an optional tripper navigation pod.
