RE Scram 440

This scrambler was launched in January 2025 with a starting price of Rs 2.08 lakh, and in May, its bookings were stopped. The issue reported was a faulty Woodruff key, which was found to be causing this problem. To elaborate further, the Woodruff key is a small, semi-circular metal piece that helps keep engine parts like the Magneto aligned with the crankshaft. If the key is damaged, the Magneto might not spin in perfect sync with the engine - causing problems like the bike not starting or taking a lot of time.

RE Scram 440

Now, the dealers have started taking its orders, from the company, the offical news is yet to be announced. Moreover, the Scram 440 is a scrambler-style motorcycle, suitable for city commuting, highway cruising and some sort of off-roading. It features a 443cc, single-cylinder, oil-cooled engine. This motorcycle belts out 25.4 bhp and 34 Nm of torque when mated with a 6-speed transmission. Apart from this, 440 also comes standard with switchable ABS, semi-digital instrument cluster and an LED headlight across both variants. The Scram 400 is available in two variants: Trail and Force, priced at Rs 2.08 lakh and Rs 2.15 lakh (ex-showroom).

Verdict

Royal Enfield Scram 440 is back, and according to some reports, the waiting period for this bike is around 1 to 2 weeks, depending on the colour customers pick. On the other hand, this bike is known for its 440 cc engine and everyday usability. It looks rather old and aftermarket, but overall, this is a great product. The offical message from RE is yet to come, but the news has been spread via a dealer.
